You can activate phone #1 to have the bundled 1-yr and units loaded to it. Then activate phone #2 WITH A TRANSFER from phone #1; service on phone #1 (phone number, 1-yr, units) get transferred to phone #2, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #2 get added on top, giving phone #2 two years of service and 2x the units.

If you're currently using a phone on TF, your can activate phone #1 WITH A TRANFER from your current phone to have your current phone number, days, units transferred to phone #1, then the bundled 1-yr and units for phone #1 get added on top. Then activate phone #2 with a transfer from phone #1. After that, if you prefer to use your current phone, re-activate your current phone with a transfer from phone #2. Smart existing TF users do that all the time to "harvest" cheap service days and units from those HSN/QVC bundles.

Folks, just so you're aware...

The service plan is 1500 text, 1500 minutes, 1.5gb data -- for the *entire year*. Not per month. That's about 4 minutes of talk time per day.

It's an extremely minimal and restrictive cellular plan, one that you could even call insultingly low - especially if you're used to cellular plans in modernized nations (aka, ones outside the the USA). It's not for everyone, and make sure it fits your use case.

No need to be insulted - for many people (for example, those who use less than 4 minutes of phone talk per day) paying $2 (and sometimes less) per month for a phone service which includes a new smartphone every year is a very good deal.

Can I use these phones as a simple replacement for another tracfone? ie, transfer the service plan from an existing tracfone (has a broken screen) into one of these, and continue using my existing plan (which is pre-paid monthly plan)?

Bought one of these using the $30 coupon, and Ohio's Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday was applied -- eliminating 5.75% State sales tax collection -- so, only my County's 1.5% sales tax was levied on the purchase. An unanticipated savings!

If I don't care about the cell service and just wanted the devices as inexpensive music players, would this be a good idea?

But the phones stay locked unless they individually are operated on Tracfone for 60 days each, right?
Yeah this is my question. Is like one to have both years of service and the other unlocked to use on mint.

Is there a way to get an active TF phone line moved back to a different account w/o dealing with Customer Service? I had CS merge 2 lines together and the main phone ended up on a different account.
Thanks

You can DIY moving an active line to a different account with an active line (TF will send verification codes to a line in that account and the line to be moved). You can't move lines to an empty account.

Need to hope you get a competent agent... same thing happen to me last week. Took 2 hours and 2 different higher department agents to fix it.

How long did you wait to activate the 2nd one??? More than 365 days?
6 months later! They were able to activate it but the sim could would not work! I tried it on unlocked and regular Tracfone without any luck! Tracfone is not helpful and lie that they would send me a replacement SIM card multiple times. It's been 4 months and still no SIM card!

You can activate this with a transfer of the number and service from your current device. The annual plan will be added to your current monthly buckets. So just looking at minutes, if you have 500 right now, you will have 2000 minutes after activating. Then, after a few days (or 60 if you want to ensure it is active at the time of unlocking), you can activate the second device with a transfer from the first.

I had the same thing happen. They told me I had to buy a new SIM. I asked if the included time/minutes/data/texts would migrate to the new SIM, and I was told yes...but somehow that's not really believable because as far as I know those are tied to the SIM - or am I wrong?
Just don't buy it if you need only one phone! Thinking you can wait until you need it is a definite false hope!

Generally you transfer service if you can receive and see the verification code from Tracfone (simple DIY [reddit.com], but it gets complicated (and not recommended) if you have unlimited monthly plan...

Thank you. Do you have the steps? There is already an active line on the main account I want to get the 2nd line moved back into.
Do I start with the main account and request to transfer the 2nd line into it?

I have a 2 year old Moto G pure on TMO and it works fine , battery life is decent if you turn all the stuff you do not need and do not let it update in the background ,

I've done this all the time for my kids when they were younger. And it was fine. Just disable things you don't need. And if you have GV it can still be a phone on wifi. But you could also just activate it and then unlock them after 60 days just in case. If you have any more questions let me know.
Also if you use Plex check out Symfonium if you have a local music library. Its been great for music & audiobooks.

Hmm, yeah I've got unlimited minutes + some data on a monthly plan. I really just want a new phone and don't even care about adding on anything from the new plan. I definitely want to keep my existing phone number and plan. Can this work?
