Not a big deal for me but you're only able to place it over your left shoulder and not the right if it matters to you.
The laptop pocket can only fit a Macbook air and all version of the ipad.
The 14th inch Macbook pro is kinda double if you don't over fill the main pockets. it fits very snug for me.
Usually I like to take my 32 oz water bottle, glasses case, and umbrella.
It has an inner zipper pocket for your valuables.
This was my day to day while visiting japan.
it's easy to flip around to get something out of the pockets.
It has a limit to how much it can open so your items don't fall out. It can be good or bad.
The laptop pocket is fleece lined. Very soft.
It as a quick release if you need to take your bag off quickly.

The cell phone holder is not big enough for the larger premium phones.
The laptop sleeve is not big enough for most laptops.
I also found the size a bit odd. It's very minimalist. If you are looking for something that can carry your tiny laptop and tiny phone and maybe a notepad or a book and a few small items, then it would be great for you. I wouldn't recommend this for air travel (you can fit much bigger bags under the seat such as the 42L TNF Voyager, which has a bigger laptop sleeve).
The material isn't a durable as TNF Base Camp duffels. It's the same material as the Voyager bags--a slightly durable feeling plastic, but I'm not sure it will hold up as well as standard backpack fabric. Not that it matters, since TNF has a pretty awesome lifetime warranty on their bags and clothes. Take it into one of their stores and they will even ship it off for repair/warranty for free. Not quite as generous as Patagonia, but I've had several great experiences with their warranty.
I pushed it to the limit so it could substitute for my Swiss Gear backpack for a several day trip and probably won't do that again. But it was possible.
I was a little disappointed that the should strap is limited to one side carrying but its versatility more than made up for it to me.
I'd encourage you to try it out if you're not sure on ur use case. Returns are easy and all 3 stores take returns for the other.

I think it's more of a stylistic choice. If you prefer a one-shoulder carry already, it makes little sense to have two straps. This is ideally sized as a "personal item" that will fit into nearly all airline zero-baggage requirements.
Some two-strap backpacks can be worn sling style and have pouches to match. My current daypack/personal item is a SwissGear 3598. Worn one-strap over the right shoulder, it rotates forward to expose a zippered document pouch on top and a has a 2-zip fold out organizer flap , plus the main compartment. The downside is that it won't fit my 12.9 iPad in the tablet sleeve with a cover (but, ironically, does fit my older 13" Spectre 360 and would probably fit an Air).
