I don't know about the best channel on YouTube nonetheless is called "the motor oil geek"... The author of the channel Lake speed Junior owns a high performance piston ring company, a competitor to Blackstone Labs called SpeeDiagnostix.. And he works for all the gifts NASCAR teams. All seven of them formulating their breaking oils for their particular engines that they're using.

Yeah you know these people using rotella and engines just baffles me because oil is cheap and engines are expensive and that is for diesel oil applications. And you don't have high sulfur content in a gasoline internal combustion engine. If you want to run the best, just buy the freaking Pennzoil Ultra Platinum for $29 per five quarts at Wally World. Or if you've got high carbon content, get the Valvoline restore and protect that removes carbon deposits from your ring lands, especially the lower ring on every single one of your Pistons. And yeah, rotella is a bad idea. You can buy the best oil in the industry in my opinion. Pennzoil Ultra Platinum because that's a base oil stock that's constructed from methane gas and then the additive package just added after and the resistance of P.U.P AKA Pennzoil Ultra Platinum to thermal oxidation and breakdown is approximately three times greater than Mobil one. Actually, if you go in and watch his review of mobile one, I mean this guy doesn't just talk smack he does the actual test analyzes the oil and he absolutely destroys mobile one mobile one. It's like the biggest scan that's been put forward upon the American car enthusiast and rotella. Yeah maybe for your lawn mower but not for your ice engine when you could get something with a design ad pack such as Valvoline restoring protect and have after 5,000 mi clear off your lower ring land and then boom your oil consumption, engine noise and all sorts of problems start going away. He's got a video on that too. He's got a video on everything. Just go check out 'the motor oil geek" on youtube and he's not the only one that's putting Pennzoil Ultra Platinum at the top of the list. It's basically because of its gas to liquid base oil construct when you're constructing your base oil from methane gas molecules rather than trying to refine dinosaur oil, the results are astounding.

Run Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or if you can't find that Pennzoil platinum, but the ultra has a more robust additive package that it's all about oxidation resistance... And you were dropped at if you took off your valve covers and saw how much sludge was built up on your and around your camshafts etc. A lot of people are against doing motor oil flushes but as long as you're not doing a Porsche or what have you I even run bgepr for 10 minutes at 2000 RPM in a lot of cars that I changed the oil on and you wouldn't believe the amount of sludge that comes off of there. If you only knew how much junk was around your timing chain, your cam phasers your camshafts your camshaft carriers. Your whole engine is just overloaded with sludge and that's due to carbonized oxidated oil which is because people are using rotella that doesn't have the ability to handle 400° Fahrenheit or higher. If you're running turbos than Pennzoil Ultra Platinum... They had a SD deal on the PUP 5w30... Forget about the 0w20 it's too thin and that's a automaker scam to gain you. Maybe 1/2 mi more fuel economy at the trade-off of viscosity breakdown. And here's the thing that's going to blow everyone's mind. Change your oil every 3,000 mi guys. Even Pennzoil Ultra Platinum starts to show oxidation breakdown not only of the base stock oil. But most importantly, the polymers and the additives such as zinc phosphorus, calcium, you name it. The whole additive pack starts breaking down. That's why I never ever ever go and use these quick change oil shops cuz they're using recycled oil that they buy and you don't have no idea what the additive package is. Least with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or for $2 less Penn soil Platinum you know you're getting a gas to liquid technology and if you want to run the longer ocis you need to use Pennzoil Ultra Platinum just because it resists getting scorched to death by your engine. Remember the axiom is motor oil is cheap. Engines are expensive, so why be so frugal that you're running an oil change interval that your manufacturer wants you to so that you blow a head gasket or whatever they're saying $7,500 or 10,000 mi. Are they insane? Are you kidding me? I changed my motor oil every 2,000 mi just because it cost me $38 yeah 4.4 quarts of PUP And $8 for a A Purolator or wix filter or whatever filter you want. That's really secondary. Just make sure it matches the bypass valve criteria of your OEM filter. Spend the extra $10 per change and get away from rotella
Been changing my oil and filter every 3000 miles for many years. My engines stay spotlessly clean internally as a result and rack up lots of miles trouble free. The additional cost is well worth it to me as cheap insurance against engine wear and eventual failure. Here's an interesting case study about following manufacturer's recommendations and where that will lead:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJhFAwFv-O0

Frequent oil changes not only sidestep issues with oil breakdown, they also get rid of suspended combustion residues that tend to form sludge. The GM V8s with AFM/DOD are very unforgiving in this regard; not following a strict oil change regimen greatly increases the risk of collapsed lifters because the tiny oil ports in them clog easily.

Sams has a case of 3 and I believe the rebate is $40 for this. Anyone have an opinion on this? Seems like a much better deal
Yep that's an even better deal, and is an authorized retailer for the rebate. Thanks for posting. It's worth a new thread if you want to build one, and will likely go Frontpage at that price.

I called customer service about the rebate. I asked whether I can I have two rebate items on ONE receipt and how to submit. She said Just submit as if you have one item and they will see that you have two on your receipt and then issue rebate for the two items.

For example I bought two 1 gallon jugs of T6 she said is no problem.

I know that these T6 formulas are very popular with motorcyclists because they work well with wet clutches. They also seem to do well with small engines in lawn/garden applications. Maybe someone else can comment on automotive use. Mobil 1 is my go-to for ICE cars and trucks.
It's api-sp, you can do it.
