Seems like a good price. For my money though, $10 more for the same battery and charger for a more recent, more powerful, and smaller drill would be the better bet: https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../322138372

Since I am not sure where everyone landed in that exchange - this is a brushless drill, which is a good thing for power and battery life.

This specific drill is listed as brushless on the Dewalt website, also, it says brushless right on the side of it.
https://www.dewalt.com/product/dc...driver-kit

More info:
"20v Max" is kind of their entry level tool line (older designs)
"Atomic" is newer tools that are usually more compact, a good value for DIY.
"XR" is the top of the line in DeWalt tools. Stronger, though they may be a bit larger than Atomic.

There's always something on sale!
Can't comment on the drill from this post, but I own the one that I linked and I have zero complaints. Rarely reach for the full size one since this does everything I ask of it!
Good luck!

This is MAX series drill. On the DeWalt website it says the MAX line is a brushed motor. But the Amazon listing says brushless.

Brushed vs brushless?

Yes. There are two types of motors for these tools. Brushless are more effecient and quiter and are generally considered better than brushed. As far as I understand.

Lol, no. 20v max is the name of the battery platform (an 18v battery that can maybe sometimes on a good day put out a max of 20v). This drill says brushless probably a dozen times on the drill itself

Straight from dewalts website.

DEWALT 20V MAX is the next line after 18V, introducing lithium-ion batteries.

Standard size
Brushed motor
That's all marketing. They also say:

"20V MAX* System - 20 Volt Tools
*Maximum initial battery voltage (measured without a workload) is 20 volts. Nominal voltage is 18."

How is it marketing to call a series of tools brushed when they're actually brushless?

Omg, why do I keep engaging with some internet moron named AlPhaDaG?? On Slickdeals of all places. I have so many better things I could be doing with my time!

Well, since I am here, I will spell it out for you for some reason? The "20v" is marketing, they are not saying any of their brushless tools are brushed (but they are also not saying any of their brushed tools are brushed, they are just not labeling them as brushless). And I'm done, good night.
