A review from 3 years ago spells it out... they renovated the property, and did it while guests were staying.
It's pretty important to note that the hotel is having renovations done currently. The lobby is gorgeous but the rooms are very outdated. The employees at the hotel are great and do the best they can, but the hotel really shouldn't be operating right now. You can hear construction noise all through out the hotel and the pool and hot tub area is having renovations done right next to it that make it unsafe and unpleasant. Definitely not relaxing. Like everyone we work hard so we can go on vacation, so this was disappointing. We wasted our money, we could have easily booked somewhere else had we known there were renovations being done. Feeling very cheated.
It seems from the recent reviews the renovation did work, people generally like it now.

What kind of an all-inclusive doesn't have a buffet breakfast option included?!

I went to see how much it would be and it was $423.20 per night when I booked for September(7 days). I decided to check Google's travel promos against it and for the same 7 days, I can book an All Inclusive at the Grand Royal which is rated just as high as this resort, for only $329 a night. For $356 a night, you can get a Premium Ocean Front Room at the Grand Royal and they don't throw in all those extra junk fees. So I can save basically $500 and get an Ocean View room instead by booking elsewhere. I'm also 100% positive, I can get it down to even cheaper if I took an hour to search. I only did a quick 1 minute Google look and beat the price easily. Or I can take the cheaper room for $329 a night at the Royal and save $660, but my view will just be another building, if that matters to you.
