Assume everyone knows this by now, but these are very high in selenium and will give you selenium poisoning if you consume too many. Each nut is more than 100% of your RDA, so be careful. Selenium is very important for thyroid health and sleep, but these are easy to overdo. Each nut estimated to be about 80-90 micrograms of Selenium.

Daily intakes here aka less than a nut a day: https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets...sional/#h2

Pfft. So I lose my hair and nails. I'm still working through a 5-lb bag from a deal long ago. I don't eat them often, but when I do, I eat no less than 30. According to that article, the established upper limit associated with hair and nail brittleness and loss is roughly 5 nuts/day.

Thanks for sharing the article.

No. Brazil nuts are objectively the worst nuts. God invented a veritable cornucopia of delicious nuts, and then said, "Well, f*ck it. I made this one too, so let's just mix it in and let those f*ckers pick around it in the cans." If you enjoy nuts that are awkwardly large, bland, unsatisfyingly textured, and literally worse than all other nuts as measured by any metric, these are the nuts for you. They're the nuts no one wanted.

I'll stick to raw almonds but they are probably bad in large doses too.

Brazil nuts typically contain measurable amounts of heavy metals, including barium, radium, and selenium, regardless of their geographic origin. Make your own decision

I will eat the whole bag, and I won't die. Like millions before me, Stop the fear mongering please.

*Do you know anyone that has ever had selenium poisoning? I mean really.. i'm open to debate on this topic.

There's a big difference between poly/mono unsaturated fats and saturated fats. You can eat as many almonds as you like. you'll live forever. That's just how it goes with misinformation.

What? Who cares, is this supposed to mean something? Are you saying we will die by eating some Brazil nuts? I highly disagree by all the misinformation on here.. this is getting ridiculous. Do you want to cite some websites at this point? Others have shake head

Thought brazil nuts were supposedly healthy. Any truth to this if u eat in moderation? Like 15nuts / week?
