$222.26 for the tool only if you hack the deal with the 8.0 battery.
You'd have to return the battery without a receipt because your receipt isn't going to show them as two separate line items. Too many non-receipt returns they they reportedly stop accepting returns from you.

False, you can buy the tool only and add the battery as a free gift and your receipt/invoice lists both as separate items with individual prices. This is the standard Home Depot hack.

This deal does not add to cart in the same way that the individual item discounted returns (hack) add to the cart.
This shows as a single item in the cart. "Hackable" items show up as discreet line items with separate prices.
If you are one of the people that wants a 14" top handle chainsaw and needs an 8ah battery then rock on, but don't expect to get the cost of the battery back.
I also think most people looking at this would be better served by the 16" rear handle version of this saw. Unless you are climbing with it or doing bucket work, the top handle is suboptimal and more dangerous. I've had the 16" rear handle one for two years and it's been fantastic for smaller stuff

Yeah you're right. That isn't the deal the OP made so I didn't even try to shift the settings around for that.

You can choose to complain about the link the OP provided or you can use your brain, select Tool Only from the drop-down on the product page, pick the battery as your free gift, and get a chainsaw for $222.26 after you return the battery. The choice is yours, and yours alone.
Im having a more difficult time cancelling the unwanted item when I hack. The Live Chat won't cancel. Is anyone else having this new-to-me experience? Is the workaround returning in store?

I made 2 hack orders today, one i messed on and didn't have 2 different stores for pickup. Choose one store where you want to pick it up and a different store for the unwanted item and it should let you cancel
That's what I've always done. They aren't letting me cancel the unwanted item now. Do you use the ap?
Choose store pickup for the battery to the store you don't want to go to, and then dont pick it up if the website wont let you cancel the order within the first 45 mins of placing the order
