This is a solid deal on basically their high capacity battery. Now, would I suggest this for your impact, no. Would I suggest this for that new wet/dry shop vac that was posted yesterday, for sure.

Make sure to do research before investing in big batteries. In a lot of use cases, a Forge 6.0 battery will outperform and be much lighter than this. In some cases even an XC 6.0 would be fine. I usually look at systematic reviews/comparisons like Torque Test Channel on Youtube.

I'm doing a conversion on my kid's battery powered Jeep. Just want a 12 for a longer ride. Since I have this line of tools this will be another battery for that too!

You want the 12's for things like chainsaw and mowers. For most other things, the forge 6 has a higher discharge rate.

Put this on their fan and it will run Med speed all day long.. I use one for outdoor work in our lovely 99 degree daily heat in the south.

While nice when new, these 12.0 batteries have had awfull reliability for me. I have had at least 10 that have died on me just outside of the warranty period. Meanwhile, I still have several much older 5.0 xc that are still working

Wow... Died?? After what sort of use? I have two, and ONE of them has unbalanced cells. Stupid thing doesn't do cell balancing. Unreal. Charges up to 3/4 bars and charger then shows "green". I just opened it up today to take some measurements. Looks like one bank was at >4V, and two others at ~3.5V! Going to buy myself an 18650/21700 charger and charge cells individually to rebalance.

I've used these 12.0's in the 6,000 lumen tower light, in the small fan, the 3000 light, and the Fuel Packout vacuum. They're probably ~4-5 years old at this point, and I guarantee they have less than 50 cycles each. And already one of them is f_cking up.

My various other 8.0 HO, 6.0 HO, and 3.0 HO batteries have had zero issues ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I'll see how rebalancing the whole thing goes. Hopefully it'll hold for a while before needing it again. For what it's worth, my Makita 5.0A and 6.0A batteries have given me ZERO issues after ~2 years of use in the XML08 mower. Hot, high draw use. No problems. I'm happy I didn't buy the Milwaukee mower. Imagine if the batteries start going to sh!t, and having to buy new ones? shake head

I'll take your dead ones. Usually it is a single cell / balance issue on the board- the wire has developed a bad spot under the potting.

Doesn't mean they're fixable, but if you get enough bad ones you can cobble together a good one.
Not like I have a lot of job offers atm...

replaced the BMS with one from Aliexpress. Huge improvement in reliability.
