I hand wash mine and it takes like 1.5mins to do so. We've used variations of funtainers for close to a decade now.
We try to avoid all straw bottles as they are harder to clean.
The pop top is also great for little kids who tend to over or under tighten screw top bottles possibly squishing the silicone sealing ring in screw top bottles.
I've never had a funtainer fail me since I switched away from the old straw style funtainers, on those ones the straws top part would break down.
Not a shill, just a parent of kids who thinks these are genuinely good bottles.
Oh, also the plastic bottom part of the bottle is a brilliant idea, I can't tell you how many kids bottles I've seen where the bottom of the metal bottle is rounded off because it's been dropped so many times

This is the one I have. [amazon.com] I didn't know it was a FUNtainer, I'll have to see if I'm having more fun next time I use it. I wish it had USB C tho.

Normal priced pair of Thermoflask 24oz is a better everyday deal at Costco at 19.99, and they go on sale from time to time.
1 - 16oz is too small, if your toddler can only handle 16oz, they need to workout more.
2 - Buttons, springs, and stuff are not necessary or even useful, and make it more difficult to clean and more difficult to drink out of. They list "Redesigned spout for a more comfortable drinking experience" - NO, your stupid floppy lid with a handle hanging off of it is in the way.
3 - I have found the most simple designs like the old Nalgene last forever. Every one of those water bottles or coffee cups with silly mechanisms never last long term.
4 - No USB-C.

Replacement Funtainer lids are available from Thermos for $2.00 each plus a shipping and handling charge. The shipping charge is $3.00 for up to a $5.00 purchase. The shipping cost will increase by $0.50 for each additional $5.00 purchased. Delivery times are 7 to 10 business days within the continental US and 10 to 14 business days to Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii. Shipping times to Guam and Puerto Rico may take up to 21 business days.
Thermos accepts several methods of payment: all major credit cards, check or money order. To place an order for a replacement lid, contact the Thermos consumer service department at 1-800-831-9242 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday. You may also place your order via email by sending your request to [email protected] and providing your name, mailing address, phone number and credit card number along with the expiration date. You may also mail a money order or check for your replacement part to: Thermos LLC, 355 Thermos Rd, Batesville, MS 38606.
When placing your order please include the preferred lid color and model number. The model number is located on the inside base of the product. The current style included with 12oz straw bottles is F410 with a handle that sits external to the lid assembly. The older style is F401 where the handle is flush with the lid when down. Personally, I've found the newer design to be sturdier, whereas the integral handle seemed to have a greater tendency to eventually get snapped out/off.
Note that the lids ship with a silicone straw(!) but without the straw attachment. However, since the 12oz straws won't reach the bottom of the 16oz bottles I've adapted straws from other drinking cups (most notably, the free T-Mobile tumblers).
Good luck!
