There are many clones of this hairdryer now, and its drying performance is not significantly better than others, is it?
I did some research as I am looking to buy this (or a clone) for my wife as a gift for our upcoming anniversary. It seems that out of the clones the Shark ones performs the best for about half the price, but the Dyson one does has a stronger motor and better warranty (a small % of the reviews shows that the Shark one tends to die after a few months, defects?). For that reason I opted to try Dyson first, they have free return anyways so it doesn't hurt to try (at least for me).
Would be great if someone else that owned one or a clone can chime in though.

I have both. I have the original Supersonic that has lasted me 7 plus years. It's on its last leg. I bought a clone on Amazon to test performance (handle intake, 140000RPM, ~$60). The clone is good. I'd give it a 6/10. Dyson gets 10/10. No way the clone will last 3 years. It's light. It's about 60% as good.
