This stuff is no better than Biotrue, and Biotrue won't feel like you dumped melted cinnamon candies on your eyeballs at any point.
This is an incredibly often recommended product.
I also read a comment before when researching this that some people say it should be fine as long as you make sure you don't accidentally touch the disk to anything else... I was also worried when I made the switch from Costco

The multipurpose stuff was the worst. Filled with preservatives that made my eyes itch like crazy.
Also, what is your source for your "gold standard" claim? Or are you just pulling information out of thin air, like everyone else on the internet.
