I got em on that woot deal, and I love bass a lot, but these felt kinda crazy, like you're head next to a subwoofer and in theory that sounds cool but it's not a cool strong bass, it's like a smashing your head with a hammer vibe

I 2nd this comment. Words can't describe how loud the bass is in these. So loud they will vibrate your skull to the point you get that drop feeling from a roller coaster. If you are looking for bass do not hesitate buy these. There is nothing close to these I've found. Best gym head phones out there imo.
Listening to these is the equivalent of sitting in a car with 2 12in subs.
Don't do it. They sound terrible, highs and lows. The bass is actually just the headphones vibrating like a bass shaker attached to a couch. I like bass shakers on couches, not my head. Go on the website and you will see they want you to think it is actually bass, not a spinning weight or whatever causes the vibration. I knew this going in but didn't think it could be this bad. Great idea with a nice pair of headphones, but not these.
I too grabbed these from the $65 Woot deal last week. So far I love them, but I've always had 3k watt systems in my vehicles with massive subwoofers... so I really enjoy having that heavy bass. Plus it can be tamed with the slider control. I will agree with the comments I read saying that 20-30% up is all you want, and that can even be a bit much depending on the song. If you're looking for a set of headphones with extreme bass, these are likely going to make you very happy. But they're not going to be right for everyone. I let my son hear them this afternoon for the first time, and he immediately went to the Best Buy site and ordered a pair (he wanted blue and BB has them in matte black or blue only for $99 also). Seems like these had a major price drop across the board with various retailers (BB, Target, Amazon, etc) this week. Can always test drive them from BB, and return if they don't work for you. I'm personally really happy I grabbed them for $65 last week, and they impressed my son enough to buy at $99.
*ETA* they sound much better when the app is connected to them and set to movie mode instead of music.
