Apple is so annoying. Build a very solid device and then under equip the base model and rip people off to make it good. It's another $ 400 to get these properly configured, and that model is never heavily discounted. Would it kill them to use the CPU with the extra 8GB and have a SSD that wont wear out quickly because it is so small? Remember with low RAM and Small SSD's the CPU will be writing to SSD for virtual memory and SSDs have limited re-write cycles. Not only is performance limited, but the life span of the entire laptop is limited, and cannot be repaired.

This Amazon deal is good.

I just picked up mine from the Best Buy sale. It's the same price only if you're a Best Buy Plus/Total Member. I would still go with Best Buy though cause I have their credit card and did 18mos/0% financing.

I agree, the Amazon deal is good ... for now. If you don't need a Macbook now, BF/CM is 117 days away.

I would personally pay for it using a premium credit card for the free 1 year warranty offered by most Visa, MasterCard and Amex credit cards. If you don't plan on paying for it with a credit card, your BB credit card 0% for 18 months can save some $$$.

Lol. No. I suppose Apple should be applauded for marketing their products in a way that makes consumers feel like they have to upgrade their mobile and desktop devices once a year, but that's incrementally less true every passing year since the introduction of Apple Silicon.

I just got it for 899.....a day ago
I used amazon gift card for 150 but amazon will not refund me the 50$ I'm out of luck. I will have to return and get this but it will be too late 😪

This doesn't make sense. They will pay more for shipping and deal with open-box laptop if you end up returning it. Talk to another agent. They shall be able to match it for you.
