Apple is so annoying. Build a very solid device and then under equip the base model and rip people off to make it good. It's another $ 400 to get these properly configured, and that model is never heavily discounted. Would it kill them to use the CPU with the extra 8GB and have a SSD that wont wear out quickly because it is so small? Remember with low RAM and Small SSD's the CPU will be writing to SSD for virtual memory and SSDs have limited re-write cycles. Not only is performance limited, but the life span of the entire laptop is limited, and cannot be repaired.

Amazon will not refund. The agent will even tell you, just buy it again and return that one if you're in the 30-day period. that's your only option. Back in the day customer service would do things like that but now they don't. And they do not care about the extra and shipping and now having to sell that unit at a below retail cost. They're going to lose but it doesn't hurt them in the end. Just returning rebuy. You will get your refund of the $150 gift card. You just have to apply it to something else unless you want to take the chance of waiting. If you go and do a return reply and take it to whole foods or something like that, you'll get your money back within a couple hours and then you can buy it again online. I would just get all store credit for your whole purchase and then just apply it to the new order.

I got this a few weeks ago same price for Prime Day. It's light, great screen, plenty snappy for my work which is a ton of web pages open and Microsoft Office.

Agree - especially for a company that projects sustainability efforts. I suspect with Apple Intelligence coming, they'll bump the M4 variants to at least 12 GB RAM, but still keep the 256 GB SSD.

My ideal minimum spec is 16 GB RAM and a 1 TB SSD.
