Arguably better than the Costco deal that ended yesterday (M3 Pro 16' 36/512 $2399, or M3 Max 36/1T $2999).
But if you can hold until black friday, aggressive macbook deals are on the way.

I am in the process of moving everything to apple because I am tired of windows/android machines breakdown or becomes slow within 5 years. I already have an iPad and recently bought an iPhone pro max 15. I was looking for a deal on m3/m2 macbook and this is good. I hope that the macbook isn't hard to learn.
I did this over the last couple of years. Plenty of videos and resources to get you going. If you're not a hardcore gamer Macs are just fanastic for productivity, especially in the Silicon age. Install Alfred and a few workflows for it. It makes things so easy to navigate. Bartender would be my second recommendation.

Good luck!

How soon can I cancel my Best Buy Plus membership after ordering, without having the extra $500 discount clawed back?
You can cancel next day literally but if you paying for one year I would keep it for one year or least for 60 days.

True question and not a hater.. but what do you guys use these $3k macbooks for? Are all of you professional video editors? I just don't get these for normal people outside of professional video/audio editing. What's the push for regular users to purchase something like this, that can't be done from a $1500 PC equivalent with a much better GPU.
What's the point driving a sports car in the city? Just because people are in that stage of their life.

I don't think there is a push for "regular users" to buy these. Software development is the big group you are missing, I don't have a max but the 36gb ram pro, will probably go for higher specs next time I upgrade.

What does one do with these specs? I bet even with these specs you still can't game on high settings
I edit 4k multi camera videos. The GPU helps a ton.

Picked one up to refresh a 3.5 year old 14" M1 Pro. Stacked new BB Visa ($150 instant reward certificate, $500 "promised" but not counting on it #becauseprofits). Included my old M1 Pro as a trade-in ($750) and will wait until I get the new one to commit to letting go of it. This laptop will be for business use so the write-off brings the out of pocket cost down to $1650 or thereabout, before Best Buy reward certificates. To those looking at machines like this as some sort of exotic car, THIS is how you do it.
Interesting, where do you see a $150 instant reward offer for opening a new BB credit card? I just see the 15% back as gift certificate offer, which is still pretty good. Looks like they will also give $750 for the last generation of Intel Macbook Pros (I9), which is better than ebay for the most part.

A great deal. Already made the purchase. Need a MacBook with more than 30G Memory for image and video editing. Other lower models that satisfy my needs don't cost significantly less. Why not buy this one.

I run local LLMs on an M1 Pro with 32 GB of RAM without any problems. They run quickly and faster than on my RTX 3070 (only 8 GB of RAM). Maybe I can't run the largest models, but few people are able to run those, unless they have TBs of RAM.
I have an M3 Max 16cpu/40gpu and 128GB of memory. I'm able to get very good performance with 70b models using Q8 quantization. The core ML API has also been released, which will allow models to be run on the Neural Engine chip, not just the GPU.

Apple only sells base models to retail stores. Anything above memory/storage wise has to be bought direct from Apple.

That is awesome. 128G memory is the key here
