The Tapo app for your phone is free, it has motion detection and alerts for monitoring the cameras. You can also record video on an internal micro SD card.

Best of all, these cameras support RTSP streaming so you can watch these with iSpy or Blue Iris, or Tiny Cam Pro for your Android phone.

fee is only optional if you want cloud backup.
otherwise, record to microSD or NVR if you want playback without any monthly fees

i got this C120 and was surprised it has usb-C
the other model, specifically for indoor C110, uses a 9v barrel jack with the wall wart plug. unbelievable. so i ended up using the C120 for indoor as well.

Not for outdoors unless you have it covered. Apparently the cord attachment is not waterproof.

Just switched from the Wyze ecosystem to the Tapo Line yesterday, including 3 of the C120s.

Night and day difference in overall experience, especially within the app. Local SD storage works flawlessly and loads fast. I'm happy with the Tapo image quality over the Wyze.

Their website states that the C120 is IP66 rated, so this may work depending on your application. I connected my C120s to the Wyze socket adapter that is enclosed by my outdoor light fixture, works great!

I also have a bunch of Wyze cams. I particularly hate that it is now a multi step process to check the video clip after they changed it to still images that are completely unhelpful. Does Tapo do the same thing?
How about the image quality at night? Can you get screenshots if you have time? I would love to compare them. Thanks.

I had a similar issue where my Wyze clips on sd cards would not load. Apparently it's an issue where their code inaccurately writes the date on the clip, causing the app to not load it correctly. An issue they are not planning on fixing. Not an issue on the Tapos.

IMO, the image quality is better on the Tapos. I don't have any night pics but there should be a few on Amazon under their reviews.

Question:

Are there any cameras that support *multiple SSIDs/networks for Wifi* (like phones/PCs) and can switch to the available network?

Use case is to put in a car for say pet monitoring etc., and then have it connect to available network which can be one of several(say home-network, myhotspot, xfinity etc). Should be useful at home too. I can't believe such a simple, useful feature is so uncommon.

I bought this last time around. It's okay. Good video quality. Reviewing old footage is pretty good. Audio isn't great. If the person is standing close and speaking clearly you can hear, but two people standing 10 feet away and conversing are going to sound garbled.

Camera is located 10 feet away from my router, but disconnects from wifi every few days. If I unplug, then plug back in it'll generally reconnect, but it's annoying.

I use a mobile travel router as the access point. The camera/device always connects to the MTR. I can setup multiple wifi networks and up to one wired network on the MTR and it will connect to whatever wifi/connecton is available where I'm at. Also use it to connect wired devices to a wifi connection where no wired connection is available.

Here is the one I use - I've gotten them as low as about $25 shipped on prime days.

Thanks bud. Good idea, I have the same setup also for travel purposes, hotel rooms etc. Also use Gl-Inet travel routers, I have Slate and Opal along with a few earlier ones from other vendors.
But this is too many moving parts, if can be avoided. Repeater head network switching doesn't work seamlessly always, for one thing.

Would be great if these cams are able to pick from list of enrolled networks, like every other device (including streaming devices). Do these exist?
