The Tapo app for your phone is free, it has motion detection and alerts for monitoring the cameras. You can also record video on an internal micro SD card.

Best of all, these cameras support RTSP streaming so you can watch these with iSpy or Blue Iris, or Tiny Cam Pro for your Android phone.

Thanks for sharing, been looking for the 'right' camera system..

Big bonus as it seems there is some possibility to download the the local saved videos from the SD card over your network using Python which really appeals to me as I can keep everything 100% local and just download the videos every night with a little bit of automation.

Camera is located 10 feet away from my router, but disconnects from wifi every few days. If I unplug, then plug back in it'll generally reconnect, but it's annoying.
Mine is 45 feet from my router such that the signal must travel through 2 exterior walls (L shaped house). I've had mine 4 months, it has never disconnected.

As with any wifi device, YMMV

For my indoor use that is more a convince. Outdoors.. it's a feature worth paying for.

I am able to access the stream through Blue Iris / NVR; but I am not able to access the videos stored in the SD card through third party app / software for me to download to the PC. Right now I have to manually download to the phone using Tapo App and then move that to PC. Can you provide any pointers where I can get some details on how I can access and move the videos stored in the SD card. TIA

Entirely different. The OP is outdoor rated as the big one. Otherwise, it also is more mountable friendly with the articulating arm.

I bought this last time around. It's okay. Good video quality. Reviewing old footage is pretty good. Audio isn't great. If the person is standing close and speaking clearly you can hear, but two people standing 10 feet away and conversing are going to sound garbled.

Camera is located 10 feet away from my router, but disconnects from wifi every few days. If I unplug, then plug back in it'll generally reconnect, but it's annoying.
Temporarily connect the Tapo cameras to different router, preferably to a newer AX router and see if it still behaves like that. I have five different models of Tapo cameras, it has it's quirkiness, because you get what you pay for, but I never had Wi-Fi dropping issue.

Edited on 08-09-2024: OMG... I spoke too soon, I only had all the Tapo cameras for less than a month, as soon as I typed my earlier response my C120 dropped the Wi-Fi connection and every time I try to connect it will drop immediately or it won't connect at all. I have to reset it several times to make it work. Hopefully it stays connected otherwise it goes to garbage bin.

Yes. Dead. I mean it's just $4. Still a good price for this camera.

It's back but $3 now. Price was reduced by $0.50 to $28 so total is $25 instead of $24.50.

Shows a price of $30 with a $3 coupon for me, so went up to $27
