It was satire about conservatives from the start. They just started incorporating current events in later seasons.
Yep, people here saying that the show became "woke" are likely right-wingers who clearly didn't get the message that this show was anti-fascist and was making fun of right-wingers from the very start.

I believe the creators of the show even said that they started making the message more blatant because they were shocked at how little that their right-wing fans noticed that they were being made fun of

Sister Sage running the campaign for left lol
Someone doesn't get that the entire show is lampooning conservatives and their untenable positions

Lmao at the complaining about the satire and turning "woke." Ya the show is 100% about YOU and you were too ignorant to realize it until it was literally beating you over the head with it regarding current events...

Decent show, gets a little muddy/falters toward later seasons. Hoping this recent setup takes it into a firm super hero landing of a finale.

Great show. LOVE season 4. The satire relates incredibly well to the current political environment. People who think it just became political satire are similar to those who are just now slamming the music of Rage Against the Machine as becoming political.

Each season just built up until it was so blatantly obvious in Season 4 that it was satirizing the current political environment. Some people will love it for the satire, others will hate it for attacking their views, but there are good people on both sides .....

It's gotten too political. First season, as with many of these shows, is just a bait and switch. And it feels like some 20 year old kid with a trust fund in Brooklyn lecturing you. It's insufferable.
It's always been political. Since day 1. The creators didn't like that the people it was lampooning didn't get it and thought they were in on the joke instead of the target of it, so they dumbed it down, and now it's way too on-the-nose.

I just finished seasons 1-3 and season 1 of Gen V and am excited to start season 4, but now I'm really bummed out by everyone's commentary on the latest season, lol.
look, it's not as good as prior seasons, but it's still super fun (see what I did there?)

Most people LOVE season 4, you just going to hear more from the people who didn't get it was a political satire and now see it. If you love dressage then you aren't going to enjoy people lampooning it for being in the Olympics because having the best horse is not the same as being the best in track +field, wrestling, gymnastics or any actual sport.

It just progressively got worse. I really enjoyed season 1 and 2.
Lol I'll have to admit, it got "progressively" annoying. It was a good balance in the 1st season. A jab here and there on both sides then boom, slowly turned to one side.

But it's ok.. We still have Peacemaker lol. If you liked S1 of The Boys, you'll definitely like Peacemaker.

With the way season 4 turned out, I can't wait for season 5 when the main plot points turn out to be healthcare and immigration. Important topics for all superheroes.

Without Karl Urban or Homelander this show is literally nothing.

Just Seth Rogan in a diaper clapping his hands and laughing at his own jokes.
Without (insert main character) this show is literally nothing. For literally every show every made…

Well done champ 😂

The show started off as satire of Marvel/Disney corporation. Then what was suppose to be a side story about Nazis turned the entire plot about red/blue politics with zero subtlety

I barely made it to the end of the first season and then called it quits. Even as satire, the character acting was just too melodramatic— especially Butcher. First 3-4 episodes were great, though.

If you want a lighthearted comedy about sellout superheroes (that was way ahead of its time), check out the movie Mystery Men with Ben Stiller, Paul Reubens, Greg Kinnear, etc
I remember that but I was a kid. I'll have to watch it again. I've grown up a lot since then.
