I have a 1 qt of this and it's fine but the entire weight of the container and liquid is held up by some plastic threads in the lid. I don't think I'd trust it for a 2qt which would weigh up to 5 lbs when full

I've had two of the 2 qt ones for more than a few years. They've held up to pouring boiling water into them to make tea and washing them in the dishwasher. Sometimes the gasket comes out of the top, luckily I haven't lost it. They still seal tight. I've never even thought about the handle being on the top part being an issue (It hasn't been). The only thing I don't like about them is that they are taller than most pitchers so I had to lower the top shelf in my refrigerator to fit them.

The avocado color reminds me of the pitcher of the same color every single one of our families had growing up.

Have 2 of these for several years now. They have been through anything and everything and not a single issue.

I have been using one for about a month and there is no problem with carrying it by the top handle

Yes, this bottle is designed for it. I have been doing this for 5+ years with no issues.

No promotional credit for me!

Really like the first one I got from the last deal. Going to replace some older style Rubbermaid with this one.

They sit on their side just fine. Made in the USA!

I'm assuming the concern is not whether the pitcher can handle it.
It's about the fact that chemicals leech out of plastic over a certain temp, and boiling water is definitely above that threshold.

As is dishwasher cleaning.

I loved this thing, but stopped using it for that reason, and bought a glass one instead.

If a person tightens properly these can be in the fridge horizontal.
