I have the 21 qt version of this, I've owned it for an entire year and I keep it in my truck 24/7. I also use it while camping. My travel trailer has a 12v fridge in it but these are completely different. These are so efficient with their minimal power draw and truly amazing performance. I could literally write a book on why this product is superior to every cooler I've ever owned, and I've owned many over the years. It has voltage protection to keep your vehicles battery from draining if you leave it plugged up. I camp 2-3 times a month and haven't bought a bag of ice since I've bought it. The capacity isn't huge but that's exactly what I wanted bc it cools down very quickly and it still has plenty of room for most everything. I go to the grocery store when it's convenient and if I put my cold items in and don't worry about when I can get home. Through the week I keep it loaded with waters and no longer stop at convenience stores to pay $3 for a bottle of water. The whole family really does love this. I'm working in the field most days and I prep my lunches/snack sandwiches for the week and don't even bother with the fridge in the house. I know this review may seem over the top, but I won a yeti cooler in a raffle for my daughter's softball team last fall and I can't find a reason to use it. This is a great price and a quality product. I was concerned about longevity when I first ordered it but it has been nothing short of amazing. Your only regret will be waiting so long to make the purchase. There are several other brands that cost 3x-10x and I can't vouch for their quality bc I wasn't going to spend that kind of money but this is a no brainer in my opinion.

Are you plugging it into the car? or are you using the battery that is part of the refrigerator? How are you plugging it in in the Model Y?

I've owned this for over a year. Best purchase ever. I use it everyday in the house as a extra fridge along with taking it to the drive on beach and offroad trips where It's gets the crap beat out of it from bouncing around the back trunk but it still works perfectly. I pair it with a Bluetti 300w battery and can run the fridge for about 8 hours at 30 degrees in 90 degree weather.

The lid dents and scratches easily unlike the hard plastic ones.
That said, mine has worked well, but the insulation is weak, based upon power consumption (and thermal cam). It does cool rather quick though, and is very quiet.

Those with batteries, some are better than others. Some are fully integrated; some are like a box ad on. I do like them though. The integration makes certain tasks better. But the batteries are very limited on power, and is more of a "backup" than a primary source. Depending on conditions, these things draw 60w/hr. How often its operating depends on conditions and what you have inside.

Has anyone been able to plug a Milwaukee 12V or 18V battery into this? That would be the trigger for me on this.

Did a google search and found adaptors for other fridges but not this one.

This is a 12v cooler meaning it can plug into a cigarette outlet in your car or you can also use AC plug too. The Tesla has the 12v outlet in the back and center console.
Your tesla will keep this on if your car remain on. The easiest way is if the car is in sentry mode, it will keep this on.

On another note. Even if you have a 12v cooler with battery adapter, don't waste your money on that.
The battery are usually > $100 and for that, just buy a small power station. It will last longer and you also have a power station for other usage.

Do you have a model y 5 seater or 7 seater? I have a 7 seater and was wondering if the sub trunk cover of the 7 seater will fit better since it's raised up a little more than the 5 seater.
I have a 7 seater and the 30 qt fits perfectly
