Just FYI, there are some quality issues regarding this device such as hinge problem & battery explosion issue. Especially for the battery explosion issue, Anbernic put the battery right on the top of its CPU without any protection between and the device will get hot easily. There are some people posted these issues online and I think whoever wants to buy it needs to take a look first and just be awared of what you will be getting:

Does anyone know of it is possible to connect two or these together? I want to get a pair for my nephews to play the original Pokemon games, and I'm wondering if they will be able to trade Pokemon with each other

It uses Retroarch for emulation, which I think supports netplay, so yeah you should be able to find tutorials on YouTube.

I agree, though it's still ideal to load it with your own roms to be safe. Nothing worse than putting dozens of hours into a long game like Pokemon only for a low-quality rom to become corrupted out of nowhere

I have both. I like the TrimUI Smart Pro. The bigger screen is amazing along with the dpad. Lots of customization options. 35xxSP too clicky and screen is too small. TSP is great if you are going to be playing a lot of GBA roms.

I saw the same issues from youtubers. Battery is swelling. Using a battery as a heat sink isn't new for anbernic, but these devices are more powerful than the ones they made a few years ago.

RetroGameCorps YouTuber Russ reached out to Anbernic and they confirmed that 3/50,000 units sold had this issue. It's worth noting but there is a 0.006% chance this will happen to you, based on those numbers
