What the crud is this knife? It's got thumb studs for one-handed opening. A larger pivot screw for the extra force the pivot experiences. The handle screws are all near the spine to accommodate folding the blade closed.

BUT IT'S A FIXED BLADE. I don't understand.

They don't look like thumb studs, they look like rivets that holds the insert they put in the thumb rest to make it wider. Quote from their website "unique thumb rest".

it sells because "tactibros" buy anything from 5.11 and with the words "tactical" in it.
They don't know the difference between steels. Then they can show up at the gun range with their modded out glocks and AR pistols, with this junk knife on their belt and look the part. While they struggle to get consistent groupings at 15 yards.

Junk knife ? Ok, I'll call you on that, what about this knife makes it "junk" ? Quote from 5.11 "Designed in collaboration with Kyle Lamb, highly decorated U.S. Army Special Operations veteran, sought– after shooting and tactical instructor, and accomplished hunter" So it has input from someone with practical knowledge and experience. From my standpoint on what I can spot on my own. The thumb ramp, is 3 times wider than the spine of the knife. This is the first time I've seen this on a knife. The thumb ramp is where you put your thumb when you actually cut with the knife through something harder like wood. This is extremely practical and again, the FIRST time I've seen it this wide on a knife. Usually the thumb ramp is only as wide as the spine of the knife or the thickness of the knife blade. The canter on the blade from the handle. When you use a knife canter or tilt like this does two things. First it lessens the angle you have to tilt your wrist to do your cutting. Second, it also, along with the placement and shape of the handle, gives more clearance for your fingers so you can get closer to a surface, like a cutting board. Otherwise your fingers already touch the cutting board yet barely the tip if the knife is actually cutting. Doing it this way allows you to use more of the belly, of the blade to actually use to cut. The blade has a straight grind or a saber grind, not a hollow grind like most knives. This makes for a stronger blade and edge that cuts better through harder things like wood. This improvement is what you want for a knife meant to do chores like whittle wood for practical purposes like sharpen sticks, cut notches in wood to make traps and other field use chores. The thicker thumb ramp also goes towards this. The only complaint I have with this knife is the lack of a sharpening choil, but I understand why they didn't put one in. This knife is made for field use where sharpening it is less of a priority as opposed to a kitchen knife for daily use where sharpening is more of a priority. By taking out the sharpening choil they made the blade more compact, shorter. The gimping on the butt end and the full tang for crushing. The lanyard hole if you want to tie off the knife if your working in water, at height or other places where dropping the knife means you lost it for good. This knife is full of features that are well thought out and are of practical use. The AUS 8 steel isn't the best, but it's a good steel that performs well all around and sharpens easy. It's also a japanese steel which means it's very consistent and takes well to hardening. You do know that hardening is far more critical to knife steel performance than the type of steel right ? In the grand scheme of things the composition of the steel that steel snobs hold as the holy grail is near the bottom in the importance list from knife performance and practical use considerations standpoint.
So, let's hear your reasons as to why this knife is "junk" ? Expand my knowledge, I'm sure if it is something I've never considered before and it is practical, I'll learn something new.

lmao. getting a little emotional, aren't you.
SpecOps guys are not metallurgical experts.
It was never a $150/value knife. It was always a $20 value knife. If you're gonna spend $20 on a knife, just go get a disposable one from harbor freight or those chinese ones at wal-mart. But don't pretend there's anything special about this other than 5.11 is the "old navy" for tacticool bois.

? For someone not sticking to the points and instead says derogatory things like "lmao" suggesting that I'm the one being emotional is a bit rich, you do see that right ? I listed my points as to why it is a well thought out, well designed knife. You have been asked your reasons of saying it is a "junk" knife and you return a flippant attitude yet make ZERO points. Do you have the ability to state why you think it is a "junk" knife or am I just wasting my time in assuming you have any points to state ? "don't pretend" Well, I'm not pretending, that is why I stated my points. It's beginning to sound like your accusations are just projecting what you think of yourself. If I'm wrong, then list your points and let's examine this practically instead of pointless bad attitude.

You seem to be confused. "5.11 Tactical" is the brand name. The knife is just called the "Game Stalker". But I am truly sorry about your friends who can't shoot straight, that must be so frustrating for you.
