Alternatively, if you want the battery, you can get the bare tool plus XC5.0 battery from Acme Tools [acmetools.com] for $339 with coupon code REDAUG. Add a pair of Powertec tracks with 2 clamps from Amazon [amazon.com] for $124, and you've got a fantastic cordless track saw setup for under $500.

Anyone know if you can use battery adapters and put a DeWalt battery on these?

Yes, a battery adapter with a DeWalt battery will work but anything over 2.0ah battery will have clearance issue. The thickness of the adapter and a 2.0ah battery is equal to the Milwaukee max thickness ( 4ah or 8ah)
You can technically can put up to a 5ah DeWalt battery but there will be no clearance to the top handle.

Does the lack of clearance matter there for how you actually use the tool? Would it bother you? Thanks
