Just used the "hack" today so don't believe so. They just don't let you ship one item to the store and other item to your home anymore. It's been that way for a while.

Depends on what you're cutting. The M12 can cut a little bit deeper than 1.5" and the Ryobi saw can cut almost 2.5". I have used this Ryboi saw and it's decent but I don't like they have the motor housing pretty low which can clip a speed square which I use on most cuts with a circular saw. M12 is great for quick cuts on 2x or trim pieces but I wouldn't use it for demolition or cutting 4x4s.

I have this saw and it works great! More power if you use an HP battery. I have cut 4x4 with this saw and it worked fine.

Factory alignment is not good though. Make sure you adjust it before making cuts.
