Pixel 9 just a week or two away, with a new modem (same as S24) so texting issues shouldn't be a problem anymore...

Thank goodness they are FINALLY replacing the modem. I got the 7a hoping the reports of poor reception were anomalies, but in my experience the reception is bad.

Yeah but unfortunately it seems their prices are going up again, at least on the base 9.. I'm personally just going back to Galaxy series. Been out for a little while longer and prices have dropped on eBay and still has 7 years of support and a little less glitchiness and better performance as compared to Pixels..

darn. my 6a has been great. No text issue, no reception issues. I grabbed another from QVC last week on the Tracfone bundle with talk, text, 24GB data.

Once you try Samsung DEX, you won't go back. Especially in an office environment wher eyou can just swap your galaxy with your laptop for some true privacy.

Have (and actively use) both Samsung and Google devices. Dex does nothing for me, nobody is realistically using their phone as a desktop replacement, especially not in a work environment. It's a "nice to have" feature that like .01% of people use.

.01% based on what? I know 3 people who use their pixel phones to hook up to the work tv to play Xbox now that one can play Xbox games from their phone with an Xbox controller. It's called xcloud, I believe

It's hyperbole based on anecdotal evidence being a software engineer of apps (and by extension having to offer customer support on them).

In my experience people say they either have an iPhone or "a Samsung"- or as they say "an android" which really just means a Samsung phone. Dex is more for power users or enthusiasts, and I've yet to speak with a single person besides myself (including those who I deal with in support tickets) ever mentioning using my apps, which work even better in a desktop environment, within Dex.
