Well, the roller in the Elites is definitely more refined than the ones they use in the Vision Standard. I don't have any evidence to back that up, I just know from my decades of experience using uni-ball pens. The Elites flow and roll across the paper in a discernibly smoother fashion, and they distribute the ink much more evenly and consistently compared with the Vision Standard. The roller in the Vision Standard 0.3mm will occasionally seize up while I'm writing and halt the flow of ink at the tip, so occasionally I'll have to go back and retrace or retouch what I've written. Also, the Vision Elites are supposed to be safe for airplanes and other environments where the atmospheric pressure varies greatly. I found out about that after two of my Vision pens exploded/leaked inside my checked baggage on a flight to Chicago. Also the Vision Elite is technically reusable, you can buy the cartridge refills and screw a new one in and continue writing with it but I typically just toss the body and use a fresh one. You'll want the 0.5mm, the 0.8mm is far too wide for most people's handwriting style to be useful because they lay down so much ink that, depending on the quality and thickness of the paper, the pen strokes will bleed together, making what I've written illegible in some cases while writing in tight cursive. Even the 0.5mm is a bit too wide for my taste, I wish they'd make a 0.3mm version of the Elites like they do for the Vision Standard.

Oh, one other difference I just thought of - The ink "barrel" which is the see-through part near the tip where you would grip it with your fingers to write, it has those thin plastic "fins" on the inside - On the Vision Standard, the exterior part that you grip with your fingers is smooth. On the Vision Elites, the exterior is siped (?) dunno if that's the correct word or not - it has very fine grooves carved into the surface in a tight diamond pattern, which drastically improves your finger's grip on it, and personally I feel like it gives me a little more control in wielding it and just benefits the overall feel of the pen while writing with it.

Thanks for the details! Now I'm just wondering if it's possible to use those refills in a nice metal barrel pen? I do like Uniball ink though and I don't even have much experience beyond the 207.
