As well as being more rigid in the sole, the rubber used in the sole is made to grip flat pedals better than a standard running shoe, for example. It actually makes a huge difference on rough terrain.

Excellent price. I even like the colors. I wear them as street shoes for a bit before rotating them into the MTB lineup.

More of a rigid stiff sole. More rigid than a low top basketball shoe. But not too much more. Good if you have Plantar Fasciitis and need a little more rigid support.

I ride with these. Solid shoe, sticky sole. A bit heavy, but comfortable on bike and also goofing around. Great deal.

Reg freeriders are wiiiiiiide, like imagine the Pacific Ocean then add a few more mm. I've relegated mine to winter use with thick socks

Bought these last time they were on sale and have been using them for months. My first mt. bike specific shoe, but they're so much better than regular tennis shoes (I was using trail runners).

They're tacky on the pedals which are awesome and have a stiff sole which is preferred for riding. They're comfortable and have held up well in the AZ desert.

Just bought another pair even though I don't need them. Great price.
