It comes out to $184.50 for me. How do you get it for $175, is that with a CC deal or something?

I believe these use just standard DIMM slots for the memory so for a 64gb kit it will cost another $90-$120 depending on model you go with.

It depends on the specific model/form factor you want. There's too many models/form factors included in this sale, but a short more direct answer: Probably around $110-130 roughly for 64GB, depending upon which model/form factor.

So just two quick examples, since there's multiple configurations available here:

5080 MFF (Micro Form Factor) maxes out at 64GB via 2x SODIMM (DDR4-2666/DDR4-2933MHz) - so you would 2x32GB DDR4-2933MHz or DDR4-3200MHz which is around $110-130 for most options on Scamazon

5080 SFF (Small Form Factor) maxes out at 128GB via 4x DDR4 DIMMs (DDR4-2666/DDR4-2933MHz) - so 4x16GB or 2x32GB would work, similar prices to the above. 128GB in this configuration would be approximately double (aka buying 4x32GB)

For the other models (3080, 5070, 7070, 7080, etc) - you need to look up the product page, check the specs to see what speed RAM, what type of RAM, and how many RAM slots to determine which RAM you need.

Hope this helps some.

Used one of these for a small plex server - with a synology automounted for the storage side. Good little form factor for that use.

How old are the cpu/chip sets? A friend has a 11 year old Dell Optiplex 5050 with an i5 cpu. Worth upgrading? Uses it for Office type of work at her office.

This should be around 2 generations newer, but still 5 generations old compared to the latest one.

There's probably no reason to upgrade a 2013 machine for office tasks. Maybe you could add a little DDR3, especially if you have extra. Or add a larger hard drive.

You'd get a better machine with a $300 CPU+RAM+motherboard combo... But it would cost twice as much.

Still, you'd need a monitor, mouse, and keyboard to use this. So the only people this is good for are those who had a desktop that broke and don't want to play games on a new one. Because this can't do anything a random 10 year old desktop can't do.

Thanks. It has a 512GB SSD. Not sure on the speed of the ram. It does not meet the requirements to upgrade to Win11.
