According to the web site, it is owned by Dell.

Dell Financial Services LLC is owned by Dell - https://dfs.dell.com/

To your other point, yes these are refurbished and will show signs of use. I have bought from them before.

i5-10600T (this product) has hyperthreading and 6 cores.
i7-10700T has 8 cores (not double).

We should stick with the model numbers to save confusion like this. "i7" and "i5" are just marketing labels for grandmas and grandpas. Nobody would want an i7-10700T over an i5-13500T, for example.

They would not be able to use the Dell name if they were not affiliated.
These are off-lease corporate PCs that go back to Dell after the lease period ends.
Pretty straightforward.

I don't know how/why but sometimes it also triggers my business AMEX Plat Dell credits. So I think they are part of Dell.

I would go with this. You need reliability more than raw power. The review from Serve the Home, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mTUTX4QNkg shows 2xM.2 as well as a place for 2.5" SATA drive. Perfect for file serving.

Got an MFF from them for my mom back in February to use an htpc. Initially had to get it unlocked by Dell which was annoying, but after that haven't had any issues.

It seemed more trustworthy than one of these Amazon budget mini pcs

I5? Is this a good deal?? I had purchased the same config last year but with I7 processor?

Just an fyi, these are ok units and do not expect them to be "workhorses", I have used mine past year and its good for some regular browsing.

If I have a Youtube video or Netflix video streaming in a browser while working on some MS Office apps or any photo editor open in parallel, the interal fan starts and keeps on until I close the videos.... just my observation.

This website has nothing to do with Dell, it is NOT official Dell store. They sell heavily used PC's they bought for pennies from businesses.
Google for complaints from customers, there are hundreds https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/com...bishedcom/.
They would not be able to use the Dell name if they were not affiliated.

I've had good luck with desktops from Dell Refurbished, but not laptops. Even the "A" grade ones were a bit beat up, and the batteries weren't shot, but were definitely worn out.

To me, "refurbished" for a laptop that's 3+ years old ought to include a new battery. These are off-lease, and only parts that are straight-up bad are replaced.

This particular PC looks like a decent deal.

On something like this, it's a double edged sword. More cores will also draw more power and cause more heat in an already compact system
