Had this in my cart mulling around the idea of buying it and when I went back to the listing page to look at the details again and refreshed it I suddenly had a banner at the top of the page for a 10% off refurbished coupon pop up. Not sure how or why I got it but with a total after tax being $596 I figured I'd go through with it. Thanks OP.

Here is a quick review for anyone on the fence.

I use my FPV Drone for fun flying the canyons in my area, and also for creating videos for my off roading club. Its fast enough to keep up with the trucks on trails and pumps out great video. I USED to use home-build race quads and those are a bit faster, but they only fly for like 4-5 minutes tops. DJI FPV is also miles ahead of those in terms of tech and automation (like managing your power vs distance to home, finding its way home by itself, wind warnings, etc.

It's got some nanny's that can be annoying but the pros outweigh the cons by a long shot. I typically run in sport mode and sometimes in manual. Sport is good for about 63mph, which is about half what I need but way faster than any other DJI I've used. Its super easy to fly (especially with a motion controller) and has always been a rockstar for reliability and upkeep. I can't speak to this seller, but the drone itself is pretty badass.

There are some segments in this video for ref.

The only reason I would buy the Avata over this is that you sometimes see the prop blades in the video. Still going to be a very fun experience, but makes use of the recorded footage limited.

Are you saying I don't need it to fly every time?

I'm just fed up with the app experience on android. I've literally had ads pop up mid flight (that should be illegal, it's the equivalent of someone covering the drivers eyes driving down the road).
perhaps you should use the official dji app (with no ads) rather than the counterfeit ones on the android play store.

Is the drone under 250g? Or will I have to register it with the FAA?
in the usa, you will need to register with the faa for this drone

My mini 1 wouldn't fly very far in my neck of wood because of interference. Would this be better distance wise?
this drone will fly much further than the mavic mini 1

I also own the Mini 1 which uses WiFi. The FPV uses OcuSync 3.0 and has great range

I do wish that DJI would update the firmware to unlock Sport to a Sport + for full Manual speed with the safety of Sport

I had to go back and look. You are correct, I'm not using the official app. But I remember now, it's because there is no official FLY app anymore. They deleted the app and only left the DJI Store app where people leave their complaints that there is no FLY app for android anymore. Aftermarket apps are the only way now. I guess that answers my question about getting this drone. DJI can't even competently produce an app.

Thanks, I'll check it out. That was not available back when DJI got rid of their app on app stores.
They have my email. It would have been nice to send out an email at some point.
I still have emails with customer service where I was told I was SOL when they didn't have an app to operate their own drones.

Do you happen to know the coupon code?
It may be on your receipt or in the order history.

Hey so I checked both the email confirmation I got and the purchase history page and both just have "Coupon" and the amount it took off without showing me what it actually was. Sorry about that, I figured it was a targeted one so I didn't save it anywhere.

Thanks for sharing and the videos look good (and like fun to roll in). Am I reading right that you need a drone that would go like 120mph? I'm curious the use case for that?

I've wanted a nice drone after playing with a former friend's drone and seeing how much better the features are over the cheap drones I've had. I might have to grab this.

The googles v2 and the fpv remote that come with this package cannot use with any of the dji mini drones.

Is there any lag with the FPV goggles? Does anyone know what connection it uses (Bluetooth? Wifi? Radio?). I'm not familiar with this type of tech

no lag which is why it is most suitable for hi-speed fpv flying.
