When the companies intentionally leave out the type of USB it is almost always micro USB. They also won't specify it in the details and won't add pictures showing the cable type. When things like this are USB C they almost always advertise that because it's a big selling point.

So, I can't actually confirm it's micro USB but I know for a fact there are dozens of this exact same thing on Amazon under random brand names that ARE USB C. I've had picked up a few over the years and they last 2 years or so. I've had one I just keep plugged in 24/7 running for over 4 years now.

When the companies intentionally leave out the type of USB it is almost always micro USB. They also won't specify it in the details and won't add pictures showing the cable type. When things like this are USB C they almost always advertise that because it's a big selling point.

So, I can't actually confirm it's micro USB but I know for a fact there are dozens of this exact same thing on Amazon under random brand names that ARE USB C. I've had picked up a few over the years and they last 2 years or so. I've had one I just keep plugged in 24/7 running for over 4 years now.

Generally agree with you on the Micro USB take...the first picture of this product listing very clearly shows a Micro USB cable and female port on the device

Temptkng for the price but agreed looks like micro USB. I'm willing to pay a few more dollars to get USB C and keep the micro USB cables stowed away for good. Already have a generic brand one that's USB C for the kid.

Under specific question for keyword "Usb C" it says:
The product information shows the light has a USB port for charging, but does not specify if it is USB-C or micro USB. Several customers have asked about this in reviews and Q&As, but there is no consensus on whether it is USB-C. One customer who returned the product mentioned it had a USB-C connector.

The last Energizer book light like this I bought about a year ago didn't even last two or three uses before the entire neck broke off of the clip. Energizer lights like this are the cheapest of the cheap and you would be better off finding a no name brand product with a lot of positive reviews for around this price all the time. The MSRP listed is purely for the name but they use the cheapest of materials and build quality.

A good rule of thumb is that when a company like Energizer puts out these products, they are going to be very low quality with high markup based on brand name. Tons of brands do this and consumers are duped into trusting them blindly all the time, unfortunately.

Energizer makes shitty lights. I purchased 4 rechargeable lights last year. They all got their batteries burst during the charge. Another rechargeable headlight stopped charging. Will not buy Energizer again.

Dunno, I bought a bunch of Camping Lanterns and Headlights (all rechargeable) in the Big Energizer Dump of August 2022 and they seem to do fairly well. Maybe I got lucky, but especially the lanterns are pretty impressive in output and longevity with their 26500 or dual 18650 cells.

Of course, completely different from this Book Light, not suggesting to get that, but I wouldn't generalize too much.

Yeah if the photos are accurate, then it is clearly Micro USB. Hard pass
