Monk was a Great show! When i started binge watching all of those types of shows, i regretted watching Monk first, because none of the others were better.

The depiction of OCD isn't very accurate but as someone who suffers from it, what was deeply touching were the moments of frustration and sadness that were portrayed so perfectly by the great Tony Shalhoub. I personally feel he carried this show. Even some of the bad episodes and more absurd situations were made believable because of his acting. When I rewatched the show I realized even more how the consistently great thing about the show was his phenomenal acting.

To each their own. I have OCD and watched Monk growing up. It certainly isn't a perfect depiction of people with OCD but it was good enough for a young kid to see some kind of representation in media and understand themself more.

I liked the show until I realized that it is making fun of compulsive people. I did not appreciate that. I would really enjoy a show that is more understanding of compulsive people.

I am someone that really enjoys The Big Bang Theory except the Sheldon character makes intelligent people appear selfish and arrogant. I could really enjoy a show like The Big Bang Theory except without the Sheldon character.

Not just that, but there were MANY moments in the show where they depicted his challenge with OCD and phobias. Even more, it showed how those around him had to work extra hard to empathize because they know he simply can't help it. Those around him are rightfully frustrated, but still understanding. That's a pretty realistic response.

Most shows won't get this kind of thing perfectly, but for its time, it did a great job helping many of us empathize with people that might face similar challenges.

Same have on DVD forever.
Saw that they have on bluray now but wondering if its good...says restored in 4k but wonder if its real 4k (Doesn't have the black label, I have many 4k blurays but all movies) or just 4k restored source downsampled to 1080p as all normal blurays.

The iTunes purchase is probably 480p? I see no details about that.

Ok I see the individual eps are labeled HD so that could be 720p. You're still stuck to the ATV app to play them, unlike ripping your DVDs.

HA! Right at the top of the page— HDX. So HD but the rez is unk?

Ok, HDX is some kind of proprietary VUDO voodoo and HD is 720 or 1080.

Not knowing the details, I'll pass.

I'd have just deleted this whole post but navigation leaves a lot to be desired.
