The best thing to do, is only focus on the picture/quality, not the OS. Buy a Roku/Fire TV/Android box. The TV/OS will eventually slow down and stop getting updates, but you can always buy a new stick/box and replace that cheaper than you can a TV.
It's not the best tv, but its not super terrible. For the price it seems good.
Pros
Lower resolution content is upscaled well.
Image doesn't degrade significantly at an angle.
Great selection of streaming apps.
Cons
Mediocre contrast.
No local dimming.
Not bright enough to overcome glare.

I recently bought a Hisense Google TV on clearance from target. I got a great price but was concerned about Google TV vs Roku. I am more or less satisfied, has all the streaming apps plus VLC for Android available. I have the simple mode enabled. Sometimes it will restart apps like Netflix over and over again during playback but a reboot fixes it. Overall it's probably better than I expected with some room for improvement ideally addressed by software updates.

I don't think I'd use the Google TV. I plan to mainly use it for a display in my shop. I'm mostly wanting to know about panel quality. I realize its a lower end TV, but it would be at least nice to see how this panel compares to others.

That says A6H, this is A6N.... Might it be different? That is a pretty low review, I'd rather pay a bit extra for something a little better if thats what it is.
Rtings doesn't review super entry level TVs like this. This is a 65" TV for $300, it's very low end. It's going to have poor contrast, clouding, low brightness (likely no more than 300 nits), etc…

Hmmm... Rtings reviewed the Hisense A6 series in 2022 and 2023, and they currently have this 2024 A6N series in their lab. https://www.rtings.com/review-pipeline/tv

75" a65k is 300$ with extra warranty at Costco. A membership is only 60$ yr, it's not that much considering the fact that the tv is 10"s bigger and it has 1 yr more warranty. not even counting the fact that now you have a costco membership

That deal is VERY YMMV... Axe me how i know.
For me, i'd love a cheaper TV that has HDMI 2.1 just so i can get full graphics from my xbox Series X...
I bought the Series X on day 1... and STILL dont have a tv that can do 4K @120... Smh
I think the TCL is better value at $348. It's got quantum dot and it's brighter (400-450 nits) vs 300 on the Hisense. Plus the android experience is actually usable vs having to buy a box with the Hisense which eats away at your savings.
