They are a huge retailer that along with their sister store B&H Photo, sell mainly products with full warranty.
I've never been scammed by them, I've used them on and off over the last 25years.
Now if you need to return it is not free and this kit would be narly to send back.
A good rule of thumb for audio equipment is heavier is better. Look for a receiver that is at least 35lb. Then you know it has a beefy transformer and can put out some watts. Look for a unit with no remote going for a cheap price. You can get the remotes on eBay for around $30.
Just some things to consider...
adorama buries this detail in their website, but here is the link (They also call them "Imported" goods). https://www.adorama.com/help/Gene...o#import
some info in your post is incorrect. adorama and b&h are not the same company and are not owned by the same family.
adorama have been sued in the past for non-disclosure of their gray market goods. the point is that the experience can be very different from say a best buy retailer (That most people are familiar with) where everything has a manufacturers warranty, on adorama that won't be the case and the buyer needs to do their due diligence to ensure what they are buying is not gray market. .
a frequency response of 18-4000Hz is a meaning less number without a +/- spec. literally every speaker on the planet meets a spec of 18-40,000Hz (with no +/- range)
this set does not include a center speaker.
definitely not white van, but these are priced (Sale price) in line with what these are worth. you just need to get past the insane marketing MSRP value.
magnat is owned by voxx which is an american company (Same company that sells klipsch, jamo, energy and several other brands. so are they chinese, german or american?
these are made in china, not germany. but the company is german based.
weight is not a good factor to correlate performance. those weight specs are typical for any low end / budget setup. Manufactures will add additional bracing to higher end products to stiffen the cabinets and reduce resonance.
before you buy anything you need to consult the atmos setup / speaker placement guides on the atmos site. they will provide the ranges for placement. stick inside those ranges and don't put speakers outside those ranges.

I can't say specifically if this is the case for this listing or if this is true of Adorama. It's just what I've read from others.

If you want specs wait for independent testing otherwise just give them a try.
Most buyers in this price will have no idea what is or isn't accurate or hifi or of good specification anyway.
They tried brining this average brand to the USA but nobody knows of them and they are not good enough to excite.
They had modest success with bringing their sister German brand HECO over but those did get some good reviews including measurements at Audioholics.
I tried a tier up Magnat tower set on an Amazon sale. They were not that great but still fine for a good many general users.
I think for a whole surround set under $400 these are fine.
Buyers who know they want more are not looking at these from the start and willing to spend more.
