This is the lower end model. Personally for the price, it is ok. This is wireless so don't expect to rock the world.

Bought the Costco 210W version last year (MX-ST5CB) for $99. Sound is just "OK". Nothing like my Partybox 300. The app is terrible. When on battery, it outputs less power to conserve battery (I guess?) so it's not as loud. BUT, for $120 you can sort of forget about the compromises you have to make. BestBuy has this for $499 (would never pay that much for this...get a JBL instead), maybe they will PM bhphotovideo?

I've owned two different models from this series (the MX-ST5CB/ZA and the MX-ST90B). The first was so impressive that I bought the MX-ST90B on sale for $350 a few months ago. These things have great sound quality and excellent sound dispersion due to the design.

All of that being said, there are some things that Samsung dropped the ball on with this line. The app seems like something an intern made and then the company forgot about. It is useless and should not be downloaded, let alone used as a regular feature for the speakers.

Like many powerful wireless speakers from many brands, they extend the cordless battery lifespan by decreasing power output when not plugged in to AC power. It still gets loud but fails to reach peak levels without AC power.

The Bluetooth connection is annoying because it requires a manual connection from the streaming device with EVERY USE. I don't know why Samsung chose to do this when they other Bluetooth speaker for the last decade+ has managed to auto connect to the currently paired streaming device but you do get used to it. It's just dumb.

Ultimately, this entire line of speakers could have been pushed HARD by Samsung. It's like they chose to make these awesome speakers, released them, and dropped the ball by considering them a priority on any level (despite their MSRP).

If you can get on a wait-list for it and actually get it at this price, I absolutely think it is worth a shot. However, the deal is currently not available so I wouldn't stress too much about it.
