Has anyone try the instant rebate on the $150 one? I was able to get a $75 instant coupon from the rebate program
I tried rebate with 2 sensor bundle but it didn't work. Lucky for me store had only 1 left without sensor model so I grabbed that one for sweet sweet price of $54 with taxes.

Grabbed 2 sensors in separate transaction for 45ish dollars

Making room for the gen 4! I imagine we'll see a lot of these on sale over the next few weeks.
Not a sale when the Gen 4 is out this month! Gen 3 is countless years old. I'm selling my Gen 3 just to upgrade it looks that nice.

I've always thought these looked so nice. Does Google render these useless after awhile, or can you use them simply as a basic temperature controller forever?
If their servers go down, all the remote features go with them.

The thermostat will nag you that the internet is down, especially if you use one of the displays that shows outside temperature.

To make matters worse, go do a search for "nest gen 3 wifi chip fried" or "nest thermostat W5 error". I've been through 3 thermostats because of the WiFi controller literally dying and each time was a pain to resolve.

It was also fun finding out that the refurbished model they sent back each time only came with a 3 month warranty.

Overall, not pleased with the Nest team that Google absorbed. They should probably clean house at this point and start from scratch.

Save your money and buy a different thermostat. I've had two of these crap out and Google refuses to replace the second one even though it only lasted 2 months. The first one died in 13 months and they replaced it. Now I have a very expensive dumb thermostat. The issue, it stops connecting to wifi. Do a search and you'll see it's a common issue.

Why nest over other smart ones. Thinking most would need this to just order Alexa to make changes? Is this a logo flex for people?

I bought an Ecobee from FB marketplace for 10 bucks. Works well for me.

For people in TX that have center point, I was able to get additional 50$ off through their rebate program. It was pretty easy after login I selected this thermostat and instore 50$ off and then they emailed me the barcode.

Boy, the "Slickdeals" have become quite pathetic over the years. About time for a competing site/app.
How so? This is a good deal. $150 / 50% off. I have a Gen 2 model that's working just fine but unfortunately it doesn't work with sensors. This model does. This is an easy upgrade and a good price. What's the issue?

I'm guessing some people might think they like the sensing (trying to be smart) features... based on what I've read here it seems like the nests are not a good way to go over ecobee.

It'd be nice if there was something out there that doesn't have to "phone home" out to the cloud somewhere... I haven't looked in a while since the ecobees I've been using in my houses have been solid, maybe someone here might know about something like I'm talking about.

New World Order surveillance
Create an isolated VLAN for your surveillance (IoT) devices, Let you thermostat and your garage door opener chat it up all day, but keep your high-value targets, like your laptop, on a different network (VLAN). That's how my house is set up.

$150 with 2 sensors
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Googl.../305092902
Thanks for the post. I ordered the last one available anywhere in my area just this morning and I received already. Only available option was home delivery for $7.99 but it was still less expensive than the Costco offer with one sensor. Now waiting for the Costco one to arrive so I can go return it. Thanks.
