I'm thinking of buying a vehicle soon, my question(s) are: Can I negotiate the price of a vehicle with the initial purpose of financing, then once the Out The Door price is agreed upon, switching the finance to leasing? If yes, can I lease the vehicle and then buy out the lease through my credit unit as a finance like 6 months later?

Thank you all for your assistance.worship

I don't have an answer for you, but guessing someone who does have an answer would have these questions:

What is your end goal? Do you want to have a car financed through your credit union that you would own at the end of the financing? What is your reason to not have them finance it from the start?

It depends on your creditor and your credit history.

Well what is your purpose for doing a loan then changing to a lease for 6 months then doing a loan?
Are you sure if the car is 6 months old you can still get a loan as a new car?

A lot of actual answers are "it depends" but a better answer is why?

Now I just picked up a Ford Escape leftover 2023 got a great deal on the car and Ford is offering 0% for up to 72 months.
