Being able to put one, two or three images per page and doing two-page spreads is great.
Yes - lots of time for anyone doing this, but the rewards are for whom receive the books, or when having gatherings- laying the books out for guests to flip through.
My uncle passed away late last fall, and the final reunion he attended - just a few months before - was captured and I had several requests for additional books.
I've often thought that a book isn't much different than a photo album, then watch the faces of adults and kids alike leaf through them. Sometimes I make small books especially for some of the kids, whose sweetness and warmth make it such a joy to photograph.
A nice feature is, once you've made a book - the format and style you like, you can make a copy of it on the Shutterfly site and delete all of the images within the copy for new images to be placed. That saves me significant time each year.

it was for the basic pages no lay,flat, no matte cover, etc.
some people commented that if you selected deluxe pages, matte cover, etc that the price was north of $100 and that was only for hte 8x8
Whereas in this current deal its only $80 for one book with matte, metallic accents, deluxe pages, and deluxe binding in an 8x11 or even 11x14
this is a deal on the "premium" book.
I've been buying books for about twenty years (a family reunion book every year with 4-6 copies, plus holiday and special events) and have built up projects waiting for the deal. With the mailing, they gave me a whole month to cash in, so I reformatted a couple books that I'd made before the 'free extra pages' deal and one that I'd gotten on a local merchant deal (blechhh).
the books came to less than $30 each for simple, hardcover 8 1/2 x 11 111 pages (I use every bit). No frills.
