I've purchased multiple Mackie products in the past. Sound great while they work, but they always died young. Fool me once (or more) shame on you...
Tempting, but I'm going to pass!

Ratings don't look amazing on Amazon. Hard pass even though I am looking for something like this.

Anyone received theirs yet able to share their thoughts? I avoided this due to a lack of credible reviews but now feeling the fomo of a good speaker deal

At full retail 179.99 no way but for 45 bucks on this deal i am extremely satisfied. I like the various connection options and am using bluetooth for now. It connects every time and yes it announces its doing so, but i don't find it annoying. The fixed angle on the cubes works just fine and the build quality is good. The capacitive touch volume is not my favorite however it saves space compared to having a knob somewhere. I have it set where i want and use windows to control the volume. The subwoofer out is a godsend and I have the cubes connected to a Velodyne Micro-Vee sub which is a monster and the combo sounds great. I have sent Mackie support an email because nowhere in the user manual does it say at what frequency and slope do the cubes roll off when the subwoofer output is utilized. Hopefully i get a response. I didn't want powered bookshelf speakers because i have a separate hi-fi stereo system i use for serious music listening so overall the size, sound and feature set works perfect for me. The headphone out is something i'll never use but its nice to know its there. The green accents on the face of the speakers are stupid and unnecessary but not the end of the world. Again at 45 bucks i would do it all over again.

There is a firmware update that can be applied to the speakers.
Per Mackie: Voice prompts may be turned on/off by triple tapping the "source select" button.
Here's the download link:

I just received these speakers, set them up in a few minutes.

I have expensive speakers elsewhere, SVS, Emotiva, etc and these sound AWESOME.

Haters gonna hate, I'll be jamming out.

Curious can a different non-mackie sub be paired with this? I may try and make the sub from my logic Z-2300 set work.
This does indeed work with the amazon control pad and its a seriously potent combo. These are killer for the price. Wild miss on the Mackie engineers to not include a dedicated tweeter or two in the corners of the speaker - would have made them near perfect and the room is there.

Thanks Skillful. I had downloaded the firmware upgrade earlier but never bothered to investigate what it fixed, stupid me. It indeed adds the ability to turn off the connection status voice notifications when using bluetooth. It took me a few tries but you have to press the input button three times quickly in succession. If you don't press fast enough you just change the input the cubes are looking for. Once you get it right the cubes will say, "voice notifications off."

So the triple tap to turn off "voice prompts" doesn't save when power is turned off. Jesus Mackie get it together. You issue a firmware update for this and overlook this detail. Rookie stuff.

Mackie support did get back to me (thanks Jordan) and said that when the Sub out is used there an 80hz cutoff involved.
