I got this two weeks ago for $699 @best buy and $200 off with Amex and it's just absolutely incredible. A true generational jump from anything else that preceded oled, I'd suggest it to anyone whether it's work or gaming. Also looks beautiful from the back

I have no clue how people use these, I tried it once for 15 minutes and it gave me huge headache that I had to go lay down for a few hours. Images and games look great, but any text is absolutely the worst. I did try clear text and mactype and it did nothing for me.

The manufacturers and Microsoft really need to get together to fix text rendering with OLED monitors. It would be an easy driver level fix, but no effort has gone into it.
I use mine daily. I have 0 issues reading text on it.

Because you can use DP. But yes... this should have 2.1. It came out during a time it would had been perfect. I'm OK not paying my console on it as I have a dedicated TV for that, but should at least give us that option when it was initially released.
My laptop only has HDMI.

Same here. I use mine 8-10 hours a day without any issue. Used ClearTextTuner when I got it and haven't had to tweak since.

Just upgraded from this monitor. Colors are very nice, text was fine, you need DP for full refresh (HDMI capped at 100Hz), but my beef with it was the lack of vertical space to get work done. Even gaming was a bit awkward with the ultrawide, I guess I'm just a square monitor guy.

Is OLED better than IPS for photo and video edits?

Oled is better than anything especially for color reproduction

Oh well… just bought a new monitor last week. Best Buy price matched micro center on the 32" Samsung G6 curved 2K smart monitor for $399. Got it mounted and cables managed anyway and don't feel like boxing it all back up and redoing everything. I'm quite certain this is a better monitor, but man I just don't wanna deal with setup stuff anymore rn. Getting burned out lol. Guess I will keep what I got and let y'all buy the better stuff

Yes, I believe so if it's a HDMI 2.1 to dp 1.4 adapter and the HDMI on your laptop is also HDMI 2.1
