I was just looking at getting one of these at Amazon for my desktop computer - so I could put the computer below and have all necessary ports readily available.
Any comments would be appreciated 😁

This is a good price for a USBC hub with Ethernet. The display output is only 4k 30hz instead of 60hz though.

I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me. I've seen usb-c "docking stations" for sale that are literally 10 times the price of this and seem to do roughly the same thing. Aside from small differences (like 4k30 vs 4k60) why would you buy a docking station if you could just use something like this?

Generally the docking station will have more and better display ports, supporting dual monitors at higher resolution/rate more reliably.

They also have power supply built in.

If a hub meets your needs, it's definitely cheaper. Based on reviews and experience, the the cheaper hubs seem to have higher incidence of issues with external display.

In for one.

I've been using a chinese noname hub with exactly these ports, except for replacing one USB-A female to USB-C female. It's been working fine except for the HDMI port, which will glitch like crazy unless I use another port with it (HDMI alone -> unstable; HDMI + something else -> kinda stable, monitor loses signal for 2 seconds every hour but no big deal).

This deal doesn't look very crazy, but just in time I bought a new webcam with Windows Hello, and I need 1 extra USB-A female port, so I'm going with it. It's just here at the right time. Hope this hub will have better quality than my noname hub, given it's from a somewhat known brand.

If anyone wants a better deal, you should wait for ORICO deal which usually happens every half a year.
