IN-STORE PICKUP NOTE: If you pre-ordered a phone for in-store pickup, make sure that you check your online receipt before picking up your phone. If the full promo value shows up there, then your promo is locked in and that's the deal you will get. However, your promo trade bonus won't show up on your printed trade receipt. It may only mention your base trade value ($145 for an iphonen12, for example). If you're concerned, you should immediately check the BB online receipt for an updated summary that shows the new balance. As long as the "Order Total there is correct, you should be fine. Also, you may be charged for the full phone cost originally but that charge should be processed as a refund after a few days
Trade-in values are based not just on your trade, but also on what model you're buying. When trading an iPhone 12 / 13, you'll get the best trade value when buying a similar model of new Pixel. For example:
iPhone 12 / 13 Pro will get a $999 credit toward a Pixel 9 Pro (update: now $899 credit for 12 Pro)
iphone 13 Pro Max will get a
iPhone 12 Pro Max unfortunately does not receive extra bonus credit
Note: they now appear to be lowering the promotional values that were aimed at certain devices, so promotion values above are mostly dead. Se thead updates for any remaining promo specifics.

1. BB GC has more flexibility vs. Google Store credit
2. BB will deduct taxes off your trade = more saving
3. Trade instore = no headache vs. send in trade to Google's 3rd party
4. Easy return/replacement should there be some defects. Google CS is horrid.
Though a $100 Best Buy gift card is better for most people than a $100 Google Store credit, so that's a factor too.

I remember when phones would release twice a year with the new & upgraded midyear chips (Snapdragon 800, then the 801). I would get a new phone every 6 months and it was great.
Eventually down the road I switched to Samsung. OnePlus phones prices eventually matched Samsung so the value was gone, and Pixel phones hadn't really kept up to my performance standards.
These Pixel 9 series phones are finally to a point where I desire now. But I've Apple'd my way into Samsung because it's been 4 generations straight. My whole family has Galaxy S phones, we've all got their watches, we've all got their earbuds... we're buried in the ecosystem now. I'll wait one more year, if the Pixel 10's have the same wow factor, and Samsung stays the same (again), I'll make the switch. Hopefully they'll have a Pixel Flip by then for my wife.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Try the veal.
