90% of morons on this thread will ruin the deal by asking dumb questions to Best Buy and possibly altering them to check trade in phone in details. Just keep your mouth shut when you go there to pick up the phone

No need to activate it , you might as well keep it sealed in case you decide to back out of this deal and sell the phone. Metro will activate it after 21 days if you don't do it yourself.
Can I use the one month on Metro with the SIM card on another phone?

maybe at the $100 reduced trade in values, but currently the pixels aren't even available to order. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I got my Metro iphone 12 yesterday and it did NOT come with a physical SIM card. I was a bit pissed off, but noticed that the Order Summary did not include a SIM card. So I poked around and saw the instructions to connect the phone to Wifi and activate service, it will use the i12's eSIM. So, you can't easily use the one month service of the i12 in another phone.

You'd have to go through past deal postings to find testimonials. The ones I looked at were the google trade-in offers (not best buy), but I've read they go to the same warehouse... so the risks haven't changed.
My post here has a picture and info about the place that we sent our Fi trade-in phones to https://slickdeals.net/f/17689989-trade-in-apple-iphone-12-pro-get-128gb-google-pixel-9-pro-200-best-buy-egc-0-after-999-trade-in-value-refund?p=172361919#post172361919 . If someone who had done previous mail-in trade-in with Best Buy sent their phones to the same address, then it's the same place.

If someone wants to know about the problems we had with that place, they can read through this long thread https://slickdeals.net/f/16418272-google-fi-512gb-samsung-galaxy-s23-ultra-smartphone-pre-order-600-more-w-activation-port-in-free-s-h . Some shipments got lost enroute, or bounced back and forth between TN and GA. Some got lucky and got value of a perfect phone although they mailed in a beat-up phone. Some got rejected and their trade-in phones were returned. Basically, in-store trade-in is a lot better than mailing in.

yes! that is the reason I was thinking to cancel my order. But $100 drop in trade in value made me to wait more Smilie

The iphone 13 Pro went from 999 to 580 trade in value for the P9 Pro, thats a bit extreme.

Yeah, when you try to add that deal to cart, it does have a little "esim" graphic showing, so I was assuming that it wouldn't come with a physical sim. Still, too bad.

On the topic of the Metro iphone12 offer, does anyone know if you get back the full amount ($170+) if you return the device within the 14-day returns period and have NOT activated the device/service? The device cost can definitely be refunded, but is the $70 Flex Plus service cost non-refundable once the device ships?

I did a preorder for a black/unlocked, and tempted by the metro offer, but want the flexibility to return if the BB tradein rep is mean and refuses the model#.

Oh wow, the trade-in value of my 12 Pro just dropped to $430!

This deal sucks now. Pass. Anyone need a mint IP12P 256GB? ;-)

I have seen them do this. Adjust the cashback values in the past on Samsung trade ins. I almost always trade in every year with CB and rarely have I gotten lucky.

No, according to their Return Policy prepaid service is not refundable. The only SD poster that got a refund activated his Metro phone with a port-in from Google Voice, the number was only partially ported in, he could make outgoing calls and texts, but incoming calls and texts still went to GV. That's a common situation because it could take up to 10 days to get a GV fully ported in. Most people didn't care because they only bought the Metro phones for later unlocking, and not really use the service. But he complained loudly to the FCC, BBB, etc and they refunded his money for the plan.

Yeesh, I guess I'll just have to hope they overlook the fact that it's a metro model instead of factory unlocked. Per previous testimonials, likely worth the risk.

For all folks concerned with Metro iphone 12 trade in, the model number matches the T Mobile model (activation email also comes from TMobile) so as long as you have selected that, there should not be much of an issue especially in store. I traded in Mint service new phone hack for iPhone a couple of years back and it went smoothly.

Looks like the party is over for anyone who didn't already order. Trade-in values are reduced for the 9, 9P, and 9Pxl. Too bad, I was still hoping to snag a 9pro but you lot are too quick--I saw it available like 3 times today (briefly).

Also note that they updated the trade-in selection feature. It's now listing far more models/colors.
