Is that right? Hm I wonder if this was a mistake too then. I sent in my iPad and got credited back the full amount
Quote from DavidPumpkins :
It wouldn't have lasted 3 days as a mistake. Especially considering that they already reduced the trade in values yesterday. It took someone high enough up to make that decision, and it still was a high value for another 24 hours. If this was all a mistake, then it was the mother of all mistakes.
I should have said - 'Probably a mistake', below is a news article related to it:

If anyone is looking for an iPhone 12 Pro, Backmarket has some pretty good deals...I just bought one for $325 with a $25 coupon code. Message me if you want a code.
Will you post which model number you receive when you get it? Website shows MGLN3LL/A
which is T-Mobile...which is what I need lol.

Note that Google never actually says the pricing was a mistake in their reply, but just that the low price would be honored. I wonder if they've realized that they can generate buzz and make headlines on things like that with the semi-viral reaction that such deals can generate. I mean think how many millions of dollars these companies spend advertising new products when they're released to hopefully get people taking a look and / or doing Google searches on it that bump their search engine rankings. If instead, they choose to take a loss on a few thousand of the first units, that ends up hitting deal sites and word gets around and people tell their friend about the great new product they scored for free and articles like that are written about it. I think that companies are getting savvier in the way they spend their "marketing" dollars these days and maybe even letting people think they're getting "price mistakes" in some instances because that just makes it even more alluring and article-worthy.

Never used Backmarket, is the service reliable? What's your overall experience?

Not sure I understand what you meant by "deal with metro ip11 and ip12". Did you already buy/own them but now don't have a good deal to trade them in for and want to dispose of them? Were they bought under the 6-month wait or the current 12-month wait for unlocking? Have you ever sold phones on Ebay, Swappa, Facebook, Craiglist, etc?

All you mentioned above likely might occur when the product is newly launched, this deal occurred around 6-8 months after Pixel tablet launch. My hunch is it's a mistake, google didn't want negative publicity and ended up honoring the deal.

Brought two Iphone 12s thru Total Wireless that are now useless. Best Buy trade in credit went from $700 to $600 to $345. I've never seen anything like this happen in a 48-hour window.

Also, since Google priced the tablet bit high it was/is not selling well, so Google might have taken this as an opportunity to offload some of the stock.

Tip: next time on a deal like this, place your order for the new phones first to lock in the deal, then go hunting for phones to trade in if you don't already have them on hand. If it turns out that you can't obtain phones for trade-in, you can always cancel the pending orders for the new phones. I placed 3 orders for the Pixel 9 and selected to trade-in two T-mo/Metro i12's and one ST/Verizon i12 for $799 each. But the ST refurb i12 was out of stock and now no longer listed, so I cancelled the order with the ST/Verizon trade-in. I could've taken one of your TW i12's off your hands if the timing had been right.

Checking my order just now and it no longer says $999 for my 12 pro.

It now says "Sorry we could not retrieve your trade-in information due to a system error. Please try again later."

I wonder if they are cancelling these…
