Craft paint like apple barrel can't be used like artists colors.
This would be similar to comparing it to Glidden latex paint for about $10/gallon. A gallon of apple barrel would be about $30-40 (and would be an awful choice for painting your bathroom)

Thanks OP! Nice to see a deal on actual acrylic for use on canvas. As commented above apple barrel paints are a good deal, but I find them too thin for use on my canvases. These tubes should have a thicker texture to them.

WolfTheCat - you are correct, they are not the same, however, I do appreciate knowing there are other options out there for DIY projects.
If anyone in this thread like me is not interested in art but rather DIY projects, here is a good link describing/discussing Apple Barrel paint, the main point about this paint is "That's a craft paint, so it's not very opaque or pigmented. Great for decorating, not great for art painting.": https://www.reddit.com/r/ArtistLo...aint_from/

Are you talking in terms of miniature painting? Yes, they will work. You obviously need to prime first, and may need to thin a little more than miniature paints, but they work. I'd google it a bit for the differences. The thing that's nicest about model specific paint is being able to pop out only a couple of drops so a small bottle lasts a long time. But if you have larger models, this type is perfect.
Probably not. Plastic can be pretty hard for paint to bond to. You probably need some kind of special primer (or possibly special filament)
If you can get it to bond, apple barrel or another craft paint might be good for this purpose.
No need special filaments. The 3D prints just need to be post process good enough before painting. Depend on how good you process your 3D prints you can get different results. I have seen some pretty amazing 3D prints painted. Sand well put some putty to fill the tiny gaps that 3D prints normally tend to have. Then sand again then primer and paint
