Someone gave me one of these. I wish they hadn't. Complete junk. Feels and smells like it should cost $2.99. Run away.

I have a similar style adapter that came with a 'space' telescope so you can take photos using your phone. ***If*** you can get the lens lined up with the eyepiece it works fine....but look at it wrong, touch the phone slightly (like to press the shutter button), etc and suddenly they are out of alignment. PITA but it is what it is. The adapter is meant to fit every phone and every eyepiece out there so the (necessary) adjustability is the downfall. Then most phones have their camera in the top and far corner so their center of gravity is completely fighting the entire contraption.

I bought something extremely similar to this on that chinesium app last year - I think its the same pics and everything.

I leave this one in my car and its come in handy in some cases when I need to know what's going on down the road or if I'm just snooping and looking around.

For telescopes, scopes, binoculars, "40x60" means something specific which was clearly lost in translation. No way does this have a 60mm aperture. It may be 40x zoom, but I'd bet it is more like 6-8x zoom based on the size.
Quality smartphone adapters for any scope costs $10 alone, so that tells you what this is really worth, combined. I'm guessing the WTO shipping subsidies from China are the only reason this can be sold so cheaply.

When it comes to optics, there are very few "good deals" where you don't actually pay the real cost of manufacturing. These would be good for children to play with for 10 minutes, get frustrated and toss as a toy hand grenade in some battle game outside.

Almost anything that isn't a TV that uses the term "high definition" in advertising is a scam. There's no such thing as a high definition lens or TV antenna. Run away.
