short answer yes

long answer different carriers have different radio frequency zones called "bands" allocated to them by the various authorities, thus you match your phone to those frequency "bands" and if your phone has the right bands it can talk to the cell phone towers that use those bands. This is technical, exact model number is Samsung S146VL - Galaxy A14 5G 2023 (there are multiple versions of the A14 for different carriers and US vs non US) here are all the fancy technical bands it supports which is greek to most people (including me even if I can parse it after sorted.)

Supported Frequency Bands (30) https://www.frequencycheck.com/mo...id=2706927

GSM aka 2g

850 MHz GSM
900 MHz (E-GSM) GSM
1800 MHz (DCS) GSM
1900 MHz (PCS) GSM

UMTS a form of 3G

B1 (2100 MHz) UMTS
B2 (1900 MHz PCS) UMTS
B4 (1700/2100 MHz AWS 1) UMTS
B5 (850 MHz) UMTS
B8 (900 MHz GSM) UMTS

LTE
B1 (2100 MHz) LTE
B2 (1900 MHz PCS) LTE
B3 (1800 MHz +) LTE
B4 (1700/2100 MHz AWS 1) LTE
B5 (850 MHz) LTE
B7 (2600 MHz) LTE
B12 (700 MHz ac) LTE
B13 (700 MHz c) LTE
B20 (800 MHz DD) LTE
B28 (700 MHz APT) LTE
B38 (TD 2600 MHz) LTE
B39 (TD 1900 MHz +) LTE
B40 (TD 2300 MHz) LTE
B41 (TD 2500 MHz) LTE
B48 (TD 3600 MHz) LTE
B66 (1700/2100 MHz) LTE
5G NR

N2 (1900 MHz)
N5 (850 MHz)
N66 (1700/2100 MHz)
N77 (3700 MHz)
N78 (3500 MHz)

for example this will work on Tracfone, Verizon (after unlock) and T-Mobile (after Unlock)

But while it will work on T-Mobile it lacks the bands that T-Mobile uses for its 5g for T-Mobile uses bands 71, 41, and 258, 260 and 261 with its 5g so it is not a great T-Mobile phone even if it works great for Tracfone and Verizon.

DW ordered one and later wished she had ordered the pink case, so we called to see if they could change the order. When the CSR made the change on her end, it took away the promo code and wouldn't let her add it back in because the system now says that the DW is not a new customer because she made that one original order. The CSR was very pleasant and spent a considerable time trying to get the $30 discount back. The bottom line is that she deleted the bandana "filler" and just adjusted the price of the phone to get the total with tax back to what it was in the original order. She could have said tough luck, no can do. But she went the extra mile to make the DW happy. Kudos and thanks to that CSR. I'm telling this story because far too often good customer service is non-existant, and when someone within a company goes over and above to take care of a customer, their efforts should not go unheard. We're quick to jump when we get screwed, but often we don't speak up when we're well taken care of.

Thank you to the QVC CSR.

Folks, just a heads up -- the "1500 Talk/Text/Data" isn't per month, it's for the entire year. It works out to about 4 minutes/4 texts/4mb data per day.

I am getting the following message: "We're unable to apply promotions to your order at this time."
Anyone facing this issue with WELCOME30 coupon?

Just wait for your email address to get the confirmation and then try it. Should work after that. Happened with me

Latest reviews from Amazon for "Samsung Galaxy A14 5G" do not look good.
It's $30.

FYI: This is a older version of A14 (SM-A146P). The newer A14 (SM-A146B) has a better processor Exynoa 1330, which is 15% better CPU performance and much newer GPU than the MTK 700.

Well I don't need this but it sure is cheaper than T-Mo. 1500 mins for a year isn't a lot, even if I am on wifi most of the time except for work or travel.

I just use these cheap phones as wifi consumption devices. Can I activate the SIM card once received and then just take the SIM out so it will be unlocked after 60 days should I ever need to use the phone with my T-Mobile plan.

Questions:

1. Is this unlockable?

2. If I get this phone do I have to keep paying yearly or monthly if I do not intend to use the line?

3. Can other prepaid SIM card be used for this phone?

4. Would this work as international phone (if unlock)?

Please sDErs. . . Answers and pls be nice. This is for my Grandparents who wants to retire in a different country.

Thanks for the deal. I just ordered one, to replace a Moto G Play that was only 32 GB and always complaining about lack of storage, even though I used a memory chip for photos and videos. The Samsung seems better in every way, and will also support a USB to HDMI adapter that I recently picked up but wouldn't work with the Moto.

It was challenging finding a suitable filler item to go past $60, but I grabbed a similar rug pad. Too bad that $4.00 add-on required $3.50 shipping, but still a great deal overall.

1. Yes. phone will be unlocked 60 days after activation. (Text UNLOCK to 611611 (sometimes twice) and it will respond with a date the phone is eligible for unlock. It may be eligible for remote unlock otherwise go to the TFW Unlock Portal [tfwunlockpolicy.com] to request unlock codes.)
2. No, you pay for a year of service with 1500 TTD. Once the buckets run out, you can buy more from TF directly (expensive) or buy similar deals to extend the service and add TTD.
3. Most likely yes, after unlock.
4. Yes, if it supports the bands used in other countries.

Per the video on the QVC site, the activation only needs to happen within a year. There's a webpage for the activation at https://activate.tracfone.com/ but I'm wondering if I can just stick the SIM whenever the emergency happens as this will be an emergency phone in case I lose my main phone while out and about. Anyone have any experience doing this with just inserting the SIM?

You can connect to Wi-Fi and leave the SIM in the phone after activation. You can use it with T-Mobile after unlock. Do not insert the TF SIM in any other phones before unlock/service expiration. You can transfer the service out to a unlocked phone with a $1 TF BYOD SIM after unlock if needed.

The SIM is preloaded in the phone. You need to activate the phone/service for the SIM to work. Once activated, it'd good for 1 year, but you need to call, text or data activity every 6 months (I text every 2-3 months to be safe). TF phone IMEI and SIM are paired. Do not insert the SIM in any other phone as doing so may get your service deactivated by TF.
