I got this laptop today and while the laptop itself is gorgeous and the OLED vibrant, I couldn't get past the screen door effect on the screen. Could just be me though and maybe other people won't notice it but it seems a common problem this year for oled screens with pen support.

It's better than some other OLEDs I've seen, but it can be annoying. I'm not sure why some of these screens look like this.

Thanks for calling that though. I didn't know it had a formal name.

Nah "screen door effect" is as informal as it goes lol. It's just what people commonly call it. The other descriptor is "grainy". And to be perfectly clear, if you use it at normal distance as a normal person does you most likely wouldn't notice it. It's just that for me when I use it in the bed the panel is up against my face almost all the time and it's more obvious.

People speculate that everyone is sourcing from the same OEM which has an issue with making the digitizer more visible. Samsung's line up this year is famously for not having this issue.

I've always been a Lenovo / ThinkPad person. How are HP laptops as of recent? Good quality like Lenovo /ThinkPad? Contemplating on a yoga 9i or this.
