I don't see the convenience here. The whole thing is too bulky for just 3ft of cable.

I use these for the table behind my couch with a built in charger. Let's me charge while on my phone then retract to keep cables from just hanging all over the place.

Off brand junk isn't the direction I'd go for something like this. Even non retractable cables don't last long when you go with rando chinese brands like this.

You are probably thinking of it usually extended, in which case I agree. When you are throwing it in a backpack every day it's nice to quickly retract it so it's not tangling up with other stuff
