Better models have the ability to detect any object of its path and maneuver around it . This vacuum will bum the item and them move around it. I have owned this vacuum for 2 yrs now and love it. Does a great job.

I've read that if you get one that mops, get one with self cleaning mop, well worth the money. Also, may want to check "vacuum wars" on youtube
